All Ghanaians have come together in support of Afua Asantewaa Edounum’s proposed singathon. Many singers, actors, and celebrities have supported Afua Asantewa in her challenge; Ghana’s vice president, Mahamudu Bawumia, even graced the occasion and urged Afua to create history for both herself and the nation.

One celebrity who has gone the extra mile to encourage Afua is Shata Wale. When Afua performed Shata Wale’s song “Freedom” to the audience during the first few hours of the singathon, the musician was thrilled. However, Shata Wale surprised Afua once again by holding Afua’s hands to pray for her to go on to make herself and Ghana proud.

Asantewaa Aduonum has so far surpassed 83 hours around 11:00 am on December 27 in her bid to outdo the existing record of 105 hours. The existing one was set over a decade ago by an Indian inspired to raise charity funds.
