Another Premier League manager faces imminent sacking by year-end

Reports indicate that the second manager in the Premier League is about to be sacked and replaced by a former League manager.

According to sports journalist Fabrizio Romano, Nottingham Forest is poised to sack the current head coach of the side Steve Cooper with a former coach in the league, Nuno Espirito poised to take over.

The Guardian also confirmed that following the poor run of form of Nottingham Forest since the start of the 2023/2024 season the hierarchy at the club are set to explore other options to keep the side which was promoted in the 2022/2023 season in the Premier League. The media outlet stated, "Nuno Espírito Santo is in line to take over as Nottingham Forest’s manager with the club poised to sack Steve Cooper. Forest are 17th in the Premier League, five points above the relegation zone, after one win in 13 matches and the former Tottenham and Wolves head coach is in advanced talks over the job. Nuno is out of work after being dismissed by the Saudi Arabian club Al-Ittihad early in November, months after he won the title there. His most recent Premier League post was an ill-fated 17-game spell at Spurs that ended in November 2021. Before that, Nuno – a client of the agent Jorge Mendes – led Wolves into the top flight and kept them there for three seasons."

Recent updates indicate that Nuno Espirito is currently on his way to England to finalise his contract and takeover as the new manager.

Steve Cooper will be the second manager to get sacked in the Premier League right after the sacking of Sheffield United's former coach Paul Heckingbottom.
