Wisdom For The Day Devotional 30 December 2023 By Bishop Mike Okonkwo – Do Big Things

TOPIC: Do Big Things (TREM Devotional 30 December 2023)

“A little one shall become a thousand, and a small one a strong nation; I the Lord will hasten it in his time.” Isaiah 60:22 (KJV)

MESSAGE:

Today, I have come to challenge you as you prepare for 2024 to prepare to do big things. The days and seasons of small things are over. In 2024, you need to go beyond the mundane. No matter where you are and what you have achieved over the years, it is still nothing compared to what God has planned and prepared for you. The scriptures declare: “Remember ye not the former things, neither consider the things of old. Behold, I will do a new thing; now it shall spring forth; shall ye not know it? I will even make a way in the wilderness, and rivers in the desert.” (Isaiah 43:18-19 KJV)

God is saying that what you have seen is nothing compared to what is coming. It is something brand new and never seen before. The NLT version says, “But forget all that…”. In other words, you have signed millions before but forget all that. You may have even failed but forget all that. You have built a house, you bought a car, and you have traveled to wherever you wanted. But forget all that! That is God speaking! He wants you to understand and leverage on His resume: The Almighty God, who knows how to bring something out of nothing. He calls light out of darkness and knows how to establish His people amid lack.

In 2024, what you have seen before is nothing compared to what God is going to do. I get excited when I read God’s promises in the bible. He is about to do something new. The scripture goes further to say; “see, I have already begun; I have started a new thing do you not see it”? The testimonies are all over the place. I will make a pathway through the wilderness; I will create rivers in the dry wasteland.”

Beloved, God always speaks to us. When He speaks to us, He is declaring what He has already perfected and expects us to run with it. In 2024, you will run through a troop and leap over a wall in Jesus’ name.
