Delivering a range of emotions, from radiant beauty to cinematic melancholy, Petite Dances is the third album from Teo Salfinger. The Leipzig, Germany-based composer delights with his neo-classical aesthetic, infusing touching piano arrangements and string-forward swells alike.
�Sleep� exudes an aptly serene quality, lulling with gentle piano trickles. The corresponding layers produce a gentle embrace, gearing seamlessly into the more frolicking �Spin.� Here, a radiant piano chiming flows within a steady backing pulsation. A lush series of brief pauses, around the two-minute turn, furthers the momentum. Thereafter, the majestic strings on �Rise� invoke a deeply emotional sound. The first three tracks on Petite Dances showcase the artist�s range, from the opener�s understated calmness to the rousing, string-forward fervency of �Rise.�
The remainder of Petite Dances continues the captivation. �Shine� shows a palpable mystique, as slight piano pulses find relatively eerie accompaniments via strings � sounding fit for a dark fairy tale. This traverses into the stirring finale; �Poise� struts a wintry elegance in its concise piano touches, concluding the ravishing Petite Dances with a gorgeously subtle charm.
