A “purposefully designed” apartment community developed by CCBG Architects aims to bring a new era of sustainable urban living to the Downtown Phoenix area.

Located at 301 E. Roosevelt, ECO Phoenix consists of 70 residences, offering a “modern and environmentally friendly living experience.” The development integrates more than 3,300 square feet of retail space, solar energy utilization, a car-share program, greywater recycling and other forward-thinking amenities.

CCBG Architects says that the apartment community is designed to blend seamlessly into the area, representing a progressive approach to urban infill projects.

“ECO Phoenix supports the city’s ongoing commitment to sustainable growth while providing residents with access to eco-conscious living in the Downtown urban core, and of one of the city’s most dynamic neighborhoods,” said CCBG Architects partner Paul Ladensack. “By integrating renewable energy solutions and innovative sustainability programs, ECO Phoenix helps set a new standard for responsible residential development.”

The property, which totals 125,000 square feet, comprises one, five-story building. The $20 million multifamily project opened in January. It is owned and developed by Habitat Metro/ECO Phoenix. It features a rooftop solar array that provides residents with year-round clean energy, offsetting power bills by up to 50 percent. Units are equipped with modern finishes including quartz countertops, wood-style flooring, stainless steel appliances, and efficient lighting. The residence is outfitted with EV chargers throughout the parking garage.

Adding to the amenities of the area is the recent arrival of Proof Bread, a local sourdough bakeshop that has opened its newest storefront within the building. The addition of Proof Bread enhances the neighborhood’s character and contributes to the growing sense of community fostered by this groundbreaking development, owners said.
