Earlier this month, Heartis Orland Park resident Marianne was speaking with the community’s Vibrant Life® director and mentioned that she had always dreamed about having lunch under the iconic Christmas tree at the Walnut Room in downtown Chicago. Growing up, all of Marianne’s friends were able to visit this 100-year tradition except her, so the community went to work to ensure Marianne could live out this dream.
Thanks to the Livin’ the Dream program, the community had a reservation booked the next day and hopped on the train to the city. The experience far exceeded Marianne’s expectations, and the staff at the Walnut Room even made sure they had the best table right under the tree.
“I waited 80 years to do this and never thought I’d have the chance,” Marianne said. “I wish this day would never end.”
