As part of my 2026 Jeans Series I’ve tried on more than 50 pairs to share a selection of the best jeans for Australian women in 2026. I am, however, only one height, size and body shape so in the final part of this year’s series, I reached out to 11 other women and asked them for all the details on their favourite pair of jeans. Keep scrolling and make sure you hit follow on these women’s Instagram accounts if you’re not already doing so.

Styling You Jean Series 2026 – Part 10

The aim of the series has not just been to fill my own jeans wardrobe but to highlight just how important it is to keep trying on lots of pairs to find the styles that best suit your shape, lifestyle and style preferences.

Shape more than size really does play the biggest part in finding your perfect pair/s. We’re all so diverse in our shapes but thankfully the denim industry does now offer a diverse range of shapes in denim so that we can find those that work best for us. It’s not about your body being less than; it’s about finding the shapes of denim that work best with your proportions.

It’s important to get an understanding of which rise suits you best. If you have a longer torso with plenty of room between your belly button and your bust then high-rise is your friend. If, like me, you have very little space between your belly button and bust, then a mid or low rise will help balance that out.

Getting clear on your personal comfort levels in a jean is key too. Do you prefer a rigid denim or something with a little stretch because you need to move a lot throughout your day?

Then it comes down to your own day-to-day life and personal style preferences as to the cuts of a jean that appeal to you.

There is SO much choice out there. If you want jeans in wardrobe life, then keep going until you find the ones that make you feel incredible when you put them on. I’m of an age that for most of my younger adult life we didn’t have the choice we have now. I really struggled to find jeans to suit and fit me in a way I wanted them to. I’m grateful that’s no longer the case as I love the role jeans play in my personal style through winter and the trans-seasonal months.

Ok, so if you’ve watched my entire 2026 Jeans Series, you’ll understand that this was a very tough call for me! In Part 9, I confessed to the eight pairs I’d bought since starting the series and how each is playing a role in my wardrobe. And that doesn’t even touch on the ones I already own and love. Yes, I have a problem. So narrowing that selection down to one pair was difficult. It came down to these ones as well as the AGOLDE Harper jeans (I wear size 29) that are the going out jeans that make me feel very grown up and a little bit fancy. The Henne Claire jeans won on their everyday style versatility as well as comfort (the cotton/elastane mix is super comfortable). The low-mid rise balances out my short upper waist torso and the slight bootcut is great back with pretty much all my winter shoes and boots. It’s a new style this year for Henne and when first tried on I could see why they had sold through so well (they’re restocking in August).

Abrand 94 Wide Leg Jeans (wearing size 10) | Shop these jeans HERE

These are my new favourite, effortless, practical, and actually flattering in all the right places. They strike the perfect balance between structure and comfort, with a high-waisted fit that really defines the waist and enhances my natural curves. The wide-leg cut elongates the legs and gives that clean, put-together look without trying too hard. I also love the wash. It’s one of those pieces you can throw on with almost anything and still look intentional.

I love a pair of jeans that make an outfit feel effortless, and this straight leg style with just a touch of distressing, for me, feels very cool girl chic. This particular pair are high waist, blue wash jean with a little bit of stretch so I can nail comfort and style at the same time. Finding denim that makes you feel good is the only was to find the perfect pair of jeans; for me four months postpartum, that means a nice high waist for a little bit of extra support so I can wear them with confidence.

These jeans are an absolute favourite of mine. The silhouette of the Levi’s Cinch Waist jeans work so well on my midsize body.
The feature of the cinch waist is incredible for this who struggle with a gape at the back of their denim, the press stud on the side means you can eliminate it all together while still having the fit you love.

I love these jeans for a few reasons:

  1. The length is perfect for my petite frame—no alterations needed, which is always a win.
  2. The fit through the waist is spot on and feels really comfortable.
  3. The wide-leg silhouette is just right, giving that relaxed look without overwhelming my frame.

These are the jeans I judge all other jeans against. I’ve owned them for a couple of years, and despite my denim collection growing considerably since then, they’re still the pair I reach for most often. The fabric is soft and with just the right amount of stretch, the wash goes with everything, and high waist plus wide leg cut beautifully balances what I affectionately refer to as my “sausage dog” proportions.

I recently went on a in-depth jeans search and although these jeans are not completely perfect, they are pretty close! I love that they are a mid-rise, the cropped length is perfect for me and they never get baggy on my waist. The dark wash and the fit match back with casual and dressier outfits. They are also really comfortable and I can wear them all day.

Commonry Side Pocket Jean (wearing size 10)

If there is one jean I’ve consistently gone back to over the years, it’s the side pocket jeans from Commonry. As someone who has struggled with the fit of jeans and pants for most of my life, these were one of the first pairs that genuinely felt good on my body. I’m a triangle shape, so I carry more width through my hips, I find the way these drape off the hips through that area makes such a difference. They don’t cling or pull. As a personal stylist, I’ve also put so many clients in these over the years across different shapes and sizes, and they’ve become a favourite for them too. I’m nearly four years postpartum now, and these jeans have honestly taken me through so many different stages of my body and wardrobe over that time. They are the kind of jean that earns its place because you just keep reaching for them. Watch below where I show them on two different shapes and sizes.

As soon as I tried these jeans on, I knew they were the perfect cut for my shape, which as an hourglass, can be a struggle to find. They’re a true high waist, which I love to wear as it gives some extra support through the mid section but also fits a smaller waist really well. Although they’re a cropped length, at 164cm they’re the perfect length for me which is also a win!

The wide leg cut gives my body the most beautiful, balanced shape and the elastic waist also helps for a better fit and prevents gaping. The legs are long enough to hit the ground and give a elongating effect which for me is chef’s kiss.

Decjuba Camille Barrel Leg in Arctic Blue (wearing size 18)

I love barrel leg jeans because they give me the extra shape I need.  My waistline doesn’t have much definition, and I am pretty straight through the hips. I am a classic apple shape.  The barrel leg shape balances my proportions. The wider, curved leg adds volume below the waist, drawing the eye downward and creating the illusion of a more defined waistline.  It also creates curves in the areas that I don’t have them. The tapered hem brings the leg back in at the ankle, giving a subtle hourglass look. Although I’m not a huge fan of rigid denim, I find this Decjuba style in the rigid denim holds the shape I need really well.

For everyday wear, stretch denim wins every time. While I love a great rigid jean for certain outfits, if I’m heading to work, travelling, sitting through meetings or wearing jeans all day, comfort matters. The Amaze denim from Just Jeans has enough stretch to move with me while still holding its shape, which is a combination that’s surprisingly hard to find. I also love the wide-leg cut as I find it balances my proportions beautifully. They’re incredibly versatile too. I can wear them with sneakers on the weekend or dress them up with heels and a blazer for work, which means they work hard in my wardrobe and get worn on repeat. For me, they’re the perfect combination of comfort, versatility and style.

A special shout-out to Sara who suggested at the start of my 2026 Jeans Series that I do this jeans post with a diverse group of women as I do each year for the Styling You Annual Swimsuit Edition.
