As part of my 2026 Jeans Series I’ve tried on more than 50 pairs to share a selection of the best jeans for Australian women in 2026. I am, however, only one height, size and body shape so in the final part of this year’s series, I reached out to 11 other women and asked them for all the details on their favourite pair of jeans. Keep scrolling and make sure you hit follow on these women’s Instagram accounts if you’re not already doing so.

The aim of the series has not just been to fill my own jeans wardrobe but to highlight just how important it is to keep trying on lots of pairs to find the styles that best suit your shape, lifestyle and style preferences.
Shape more than size really does play the biggest part in finding your perfect pair/s. We’re all so diverse in our shapes but thankfully the denim industry does now offer a diverse range of shapes in denim so that we can find those that work best for us. It’s not about your body being less than; it’s about finding the shapes of denim that work best with your proportions.
It’s important to get an understanding of which rise suits you best. If you have a longer torso with plenty of room between your belly button and your bust then high-rise is your friend. If, like me, you have very little space between your belly button and bust, then a mid or low rise will help balance that out.
Getting clear on your personal comfort levels in a jean is key too. Do you prefer a rigid denim or something with a little stretch because you need to move a lot throughout your day?
Then it comes down to your own day-to-day life and personal style preferences as to the cuts of a jean that appeal to you.
There is SO much choice out there. If you want jeans in wardrobe life, then keep going until you find the ones that make you feel incredible when you put them on. I’m of an age that for most of my younger adult life we didn’t have the choice we have now. I really struggled to find jeans to suit and fit me in a way I wanted them to. I’m grateful that’s no longer the case as I love the role jeans play in my personal style through winter and the trans-seasonal months.

Henne Claire Jean (wearing size 28) | Shop these jeans HERE
Ok, so if you’ve watched my entire 2026 Jeans Series, you’ll understand that this was a very tough call for me! In Part 9, I confessed to the eight pairs I’d bought since starting the series and how each is playing a role in my wardrobe. And that doesn’t even touch on the ones I already own and love. Yes, I have a problem. So narrowing that selection down to one pair was difficult. It came down to these ones as well as the AGOLDE Harper jeans (I wear size 29) that are the going out jeans that make me feel very grown up and a little bit fancy. The Henne Claire jeans won on their everyday style versatility as well as comfort (the cotton/elastane mix is super comfortable). The low-mid rise balances out my short upper waist torso and the slight bootcut is great back with pretty much all my winter shoes and boots. It’s a new style this year for Henne and when first tried on I could see why they had sold through so well (they’re restocking in August).

These are my new favourite, effortless, practical, and actually flattering in all the right places. They strike the perfect balance between structure and comfort, with a high-waisted fit that really defines the waist and enhances my natural curves. The wide-leg cut elongates the legs and gives that clean, put-together look without trying too hard. I also love the wash. It’s one of those pieces you can throw on with almost anything and still look intentional.

I love these jeans for a few reasons:
- The length is perfect for my petite frame—no alterations needed, which is always a win.
- The fit through the waist is spot on and feels really comfortable.
- The wide-leg silhouette is just right, giving that relaxed look without overwhelming my frame.
