Refresh your home

Refresh your home

By updating or re-arranging items around the home, you can refresh both your space and your mind.

By updating or re-arranging items around the home, you can refresh both your space and your mind.

Sometimes when we feel stuck or like we are simply going through the motions, what we really need is a change. It doesn't always have to be a big change either - a simple refresh of your home can make a huge difference in our outlook.

Declutter

A clutter-free home instantly feels more spacious and inviting. Removing any clutter from your home will instantly make you feel refreshed, accomplished and inspired to continue with refreshing your space.

A home office can often be a place where things are stored to be dealt with later or where paperwork piles up. This client's home office desperately needed a declutter and some new storage solutions. Here is the before image of the office and my inspirational images for how we wanted the design to look.

Re-arrange your Artwork

Do you have artwork hanging on the walls in your home? Maybe you have a photo gallery wall? or memorabilia in the games room?

Why not switch it up? Move the artwork around your home and find new spots for it. We often become blind to the artwork in our home because we are so used to seeing it in the same spot. Re-arranging your artwork can give you a new appreciation for your pieces.

Add some colour

Think about ways you can incorporate more colour into your spaces. Think artwork, textiles, décor. Could you add anything that would bring some brightness and joy to your home.

Lighting

Good lighting can dramatically change the ambience of a room. Replace outdated light fixtures with more modern, energy-efficient options. Consider adding floor or table lamps to brighten dark corners. By enhancing the lighting in your home, you'll create a warm and inviting atmosphere.

Create space for what you love

We often stick to the basics when it comes to our spaces, but why not create dedicated spaces for things you enjoy.

This client loved to sew, so in their concept design, I created a dedicated sewing area.

Bring the outdoors in

Introduce the beauty of nature into your home with indoor plants. Houseplants not only freshen the air but also add visual appeal and a sense of tranquillity.

Consider space for wellbeing

If you have the room, why not create a space that is dedicated to your wellbeing. Here is a concept I did for a client to create a space where they could relax, meditate and practice yoga.
