Hello and welcome to my stop on the Island Batik and ByAnnie blog hop.

November is the month when ambassadors had the opportunity to choose a pattern from the ByAnnie website. Have you visited ByAnnie recently? The patterns are all fantastic and choosing only one, was actually very hard.

I finally decided on the Flipping Out case. This project is such fun - a case that converts to a stand for your sewing (or any) goodies. It comes in two sizes - I made the large size.

After watching the video tutorial a couple of times, I was finally ready to sew. I gathered all of the supplies and sat down to make my Flipping Out case using a couple of fabrics from the new Island Batik range called Winged Things by Kate Colleran Designs.

I made the case in a few hours (well, a few more than a few) and for me,  the trickiest part was re-adding the zipper pull which we remove to assemble the case. Annie made it look so easy, so I'd better do some more practising to get as quick as she is.

To sew up this case, I decided to use Aurifil 50wt cotton thread in a glorious purple colour - number 2540.

Here is the outside of the Flipping Out Case, when all zipped up.

And here is the case unzipped and standing on its on, on the table. This would made a very handy case to take along to sewing days or retreats.

Thank you to Island Batik and By Annie for this fun collaboration.

Visit the other Island Batik ambassadors to see which bags they chose.

Winged Things is available in stores now. Stitchin Heaven and a variety of other stores have this range available to purchase online.

Island Batik is hosting a fantastic giveaway to celebrate the new Summer 2023 fabric arrivals.
