New Years Eve fireworks are coming! ???

And around 45% of animals show signs of fear when they hear fireworks. Do you have a pet that is scared of fireworks?

By preparing in advance before fireworks start this New Years Eve, your pet will be better able to cope with the noises.

~ Exercise earlier in the day

~ Keep them inside, preferably close to you for comfort

~ Provide a safe place – often they prefer a small enclosed area, perfect if they are crate trained

~ Keep windows & blinds closed as removing visual stimulation can help to calm them

~ Ensure they are microchipped along with an ID tag on collar as pets are known to become Houdini’s this time of year.

~ Distract with Kongs, Bones, treats, what ever calms them down

~ Adaptil for DOGS (a spray, collar or diffuser) or Feliway for CATS (spray or diffuser) which releases pheromones similar to the mother of the dog’s or cats, helping to give your pet reassurance when they need it most. Have it on hand and spray blankets or bedding before the fireworks begins

~ If the phobia is extreme, there is prescription medications our vets may be able to dispense after a consult & health check.
