Debido a un problema de cortocircuito, Toyota está retirando del mercado más de 1 millón de vehículos fabricados en los EE. UU.

La compañía automotriz dijo que un cortocircuito en los sensores del vehículo podría impedir que las bolsas de aire se desplieguen correctamente, aumentando el riesgo de lesiones durante un choque.

Varios vehículos de los años modelo 2020 al 2022 se encuentran entre aquellos con sensores ineficientes del Sistema de Clasificación de Ocupantes, que aseguran que las bolsas de aire no se desplieguen si un niño o un adulto pequeño se sienta en el asiento delantero.

La empresa tiene previsto empezar a notificar a los propietarios afectados a mediados de febrero. Luego, los concesionarios examinarán los vehículos retirados del mercado para ver si es necesario reemplazar los sensores.
