A 9-year-old boy was found unharmed after making his way into the conveyer-belt baggage handling system at Minneapolis-Saint Paul International Airport on Saturday.

The incident took place when a group of around 20 travellers were checking in their bags at Terminal 1 at MSP for a trip together. His parents didn't immediately realise that their child had gone missing.

The airport police retrieved the boy within minutes and found him safe and uninjured before returning him to his parents.

An internal investigation is being carried out to understand how this incident happened and prevent something similar from happening in the future.
