Twenty Years of BeerSmith Brewing Software

In late October of 2003, I launched version 1.0 of BeerSmith to the public. Over the last 20 years, steady improvements and word-of-mouth marketing have made BeerSmith the standard for beer, mead, cider and wine making.

Over the years hundreds of thousands of brewers have used BeerSmith to make great beer, and the BeerSmithRecipes.com recipe site now hosts 1.8 million beer recipes and some 269,000 registered users. Along the way I added the BeerSmith Blog which has over 500 articles on brewing, and BeerSmith podcast which now numbers 291 episodes and several million downloads.

Most importantly, I’ve met hundreds of great friends, and enjoyed some amazing beers, meads and ciders with people from around the world. Thank you again for the opportunity to be a part of the amazing brewing community these last 20 years, and I look forward to many more.

Sincerely,

Brad Smith, PhD, BeerSmith LLC
