June & July Painting Update

This is not going to take long... As I mentioned in the last update I've been away from my paints for most of the last two and a half months so painting has been sparse, in fact I only painted a handful of minis for two games...

So I finished the Big Bang crew for Zombicide with Bernadette and Amy. I was tempted to try and do the floral pattern on Bernadette's dress but with time being limited I just went with a plain version in the end. Amy I think is probably a bit too vivid in her colours, but I went with the card art for my inspiration.

Batman (10)

As Batman is a) getting played and b) has very simple minis I can paint quickly, this is where I focused much of my painting time.

So we have a few new minions in alternate poses. A trio of bad guys in "the comedians", Condiment King, Mighty Mom and Pack Rat. The other model in the Mask of the Phantasm, the Phantasm himself. A new hero, Tim Drake as Robin. And a pair of beat cops which allows me to field the entire GCPD or run the villains scenario "Almost Got 'Im"

Re-evaluation

So, as has become tradition in July, I take a look at how the year is panning out and re-evaluate what my painting goals should be. This is what I originally wrote in January before I knew what this year would be!

So, I'm not going to be able to do all that. I have no idea how much free time I'll have at the new job or how easily I'll be able to paint at the new flat so I'm going to revise things down.

So I'm shunting the big CMON stuff Zombicide & Marvel United as I can't see me finishing either. That doesn't mean I wont paint stuff from either, I'm just not committing to do it. Then for the other stuff I want to finish Vanguard and Batman as both are being played right now and I want to finish Hellscape because there's so little outstanding before I can get the game to table (at least with 4). I'm keeping the Daily Spawn and Descent goals because they are relatively easy to achieve and very simple paint jobs so can be done in conjunction with other stuff. Finally I'm adding one new game, Familiar Tales. We're very close to finishing Aftermath and it would be good to have another Jerry Hawthorne game in the pipeline ready painted for Christmas.

I've also dropped the overall total to 200, which means I'm slightly over half way and that seems achievable but obviously everything is very fluid right now. Right, that's just about everything, time to find myself a new Keep and by the time we next talk I should be just starting my new job! Exciting times ahead!
