Remember that one time I thought I would get in a ton of reading on vacation and didn't end up reading at all? Because SAME.
There were no new reads for the month of April because I was SO busy prepping for my trip, and the books I thought I would read for vacation took up residence in my bag the whole time. The GOOD news is I'm still ahead of schedule for my reading challenge, and I completed one book in a little over a week at the end of May. I'm BACK baby!
Today on the blog, I'm sharing my review of my most recent read.
This booked popped up on my Goodreads feed as something I might enjoy, and after reading the summary, it sounded like the perfect summertime love story. When the weather warms up, I love these easy-reads because I can finish them quickly and get hooked on the story line.
The Unhoneymooners kicks off with a wedding gone wrong. Olive's twin sister Ami marries Dane and just as Olive is about to make her maid of honor speech, everyone at the wedding comes down with food poisoning from a seafood buffet. (SO GROSS!) Everyone except Olive, who has a seafood allergy, and Ethan, Dane's brother, who is skeptical of buffets. When Ami and Dane can't go on their FREE honeymoon that Ami won through a contest, they offer it to Olive and Ethan. The only problem is Olive and Ethan HATE each other. They take the trip anyway and end up learning they were wrong about each other all along.
I liked this book because even though it was pretty predictable, there was a good amount of unexpected twists and turns mixed in as well. It's a lot of fun to read about all the crazy things they get themselves into during the trip when they're lying about being Ami and Dane. It's also a great lesson that first impressions aren't always correct. If you're looking for a book to take to the beach that will make you laugh and feel the love, this one is a great pick for summer.
