Blade Runner 2099 Isn’t the Ridley Scott Franchise’s Only Big 2026 Release, View Preview

Blade Runner 2099 will not be the only major release in 2026. Blade Runner fans are already waiting for the highly anticipated show, which is set to release on November 25, 2026. But adding to that, the franchise is also expanding into comics.

Blade Runner franchise is launching a new comics series from Titan Comics. As per the press release, Blade Runner: Tokyo Nexus: Die With Honor will be available from November 4, 2026. Nancy A. Collins is the writer of the four-issue series. Mariano Taibo has collaborated as the artist for Blade Runner: Tokyo Nexus: Die With Honor.

The Blade Runner media franchise was started back in the 1980s by Ridley Scott. After a long gap, the franchise returned again for fans in 2017 with Blade Runner 2049. The 2017 film was directed by Denis Villeneuve. The cast of the film featured Ryan Gosling and Harrison Ford as Officer K and Rick Deckard, respectively. This year, the action series Blade Runner 2099 will be released on Prime Video. While Jonathan van Tulleken will be directing the first two episodes, the original creator Ridley Scott has stepped in as one of the executive producers for the project, per JoBlo.

What do we see in the preview for the Blade Runner: Tokyo Nexus: Die With Honor series?

The official synopsis of the comic book stated, “Blade Runner: Tokyo Nexus: Die with Honor #1 sees Alura show the Kalanthia traitor, who is head of the Cheshire bootleg Replicant program, photos of Stix and Mead, realising they are still alive he panics and demands she kills them, Alura refuses until Uldren makes good on his promise of delivering bootleg Replicants as promised.”

The description further doubled down on how Alura then summons Stix to introduce him to the Borealis Team. The Borealis Team is a three-Cheshire Replicant team per the official preview. They are clones of the original Aurora Team and have previously worked with Stix on Kalanthia. Stix is then ordered to follow a new mission of killing Madame Nomura.

The description further reads, “Meanwhile, Mead, still believing that Stix is the killer of Sayo – Nomura’s daughter, steals his Cheshire ID card and breaks into Cheshire HQ in search of evidence and witnesses the brutal mass assassination of the Yakuza sub-bosses by a second Cheshire Replicant kill team lead by Lerna, who is linked to Alura via one of the two surviving Aurora Yokes.”

Titan Comics has also announced that fans can pre-order the series on Forbidden Planet or place an order at their nearest comic book store.
