When I booked Walt’s Table Experience at Tam O’Shanter, I honestly thought it would simply be dinner at the table where Walt Disney once sat. I couldn’t have been more wrong—it was so much more than that.
Throughout our meal, our server shared fascinating stories and historical facts about the restaurant’s connection to Walt Disney. She pointed out paintings and other details throughout the restaurant that tie directly to Walt and The Walt Disney Company, many of which I never would have noticed on my own.
One of my favorite stories was learning that the Walt Disney Archives actually removed Walt’s original table, added the commemorative plaque, and then returned it to the restaurant. They also took sketches Walt had drawn while dining there and beautifully laser engraved them into the tabletop, making the experience feel even more personal and meaningful.
As if that wasn’t enough, we were even given a special souvenir to take home at the end of the experience.
I walked in expecting a great meal at a historic table, but I left realizing this is much more than dinner. It’s an immersive experience that gives Disney fans a deeper appreciation for Walt Disney’s history and the place where he spent so much time.
