1. It’s not a/an “historic” raise when those raises do not keep up with the cost of living for public school teachers.

House Speaker Destin Hall was quoted by WRAL as saying:

Years 15-24 – STILL FROZEN.

3. There is a bonus, but…

The News & Observer reported (as well as other outlets) reported that bonuses would be given.

Later? Yep. Probably in October.

4. There is no backpay.

The reason that Phil Berger kept the budget from being passed until summer is so that the fiscal year for the state would end for 2025-2026. All school systems work on a June to June fiscal cycle. Passing a new budget after that cycle has become history negates the premise of giving backpay.

5. There is still no graduate degree pay.
