The only veterinary college in Mizoram, and one of the constituent colleges of the Central Agricultural University (CAU), Imphal. Established through an ordinance in 1995, the college became functional with its first B.V.Sc & A.H. batch in 1997. Located at Selesih, about 12 km north of Aizawl on the Aizawl-Sihphir-Silchar sub-highway, the campus spans 168.61 acres of hilly terrain at an altitude of 965 metres. The college draws students from across the North Eastern Hill States — including Arunachal Pradesh, Manipur, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Tripura, Nagaland and Sikkim — with an intake of around 67 seats per year, filled through state quota, VCI quota (15%, via NEET-UG) and self-financed category seats.

What is B.V.Sc & A.H.?

B.V.Sc & A.H. (Bachelor of Veterinary Science & Animal Husbandry) is a 5-year professional degree (including internship) that trains students in animal healthcare, livestock management, veterinary surgery and public health. It follows the Veterinary Council of India’s Minimum Standards for Veterinary Education (2008) Regulations. In Mizoram, admission to CVSc & AH Selesih is through NEET-UG, combined with state and VCI quota counselling.
