If you’re familiar with Horse Rookie, you know we’re interested in much every corner of horse life.

Since 2018, we’ve published nearly 1,000 free articles about everything from riding tips and horse health to tack, training, showing, careers, confidence, and what to wear to your first lesson.

That’s a lot of horse talk.

Horse Rookie has given us a front-row seat to what makes equestrian life wonderful—and what makes it really, really hard.

Over the years, ideas started piling up for things we wished existed beyond the screen. Things that could help riders get unstuck, feel encouraged, laugh at the absurdity of horses, connect with other equestrians, and reconnect with the reasons we fell in love with all of this in the first place.

This year, we decided those big ideas needed their own barn.

But somewhere along the way, something became increasingly clear.

Horse life isn’t difficult simply because there’s a lot to learn. It’s difficult because we care so darn much.

We care when our horses are injured. We care when we’re not progressing as quickly as we’d hoped. We care when our confidence disappears, when the vet bill arrives, when someone else seems to be succeeding while we’re struggling, and when rising costs make the sport we love harder to sustain.

That’s why the same team behind Horse Rookie created Stable Mind®, the home of equestrian card decks and giftable goods designed to put a more joy between the ears.

From Information to Inspiration

The ideas behind Stable Mind have actually been kicking around for nearly as long as the Horse Rookie website.

They just needed the right time—and the right home—to come to life.

After years of creating digital content, we also found ourselves craving something increasingly rare in this day and age:

Less screen time. More present moments.

The barn is one of the few places many of us can still put down our phones, stay in the moment, move our bodies, notice what’s happening around us, and connect with another emotional creature instead of an algorithm.

We craved physical things horse people could touch, hold, use, display, laugh about, share with a friend, or gift to someone who needs it right then and there.

Think back to your earliest memories of horses.
