Woke is on the run, but it’s far from defeated.

President Donald Trump’s war on DEI, with assists from field generals like Christopher Rufo and Robby Starbuck, are taking the culture back from the hard Left.

We can still see woke elements in plain sight, including the Oscars’ red carpet broadcast.

Host Julianne Hough of “Dancing with the Stars” fame shared a “land acknowledgement” Sunday as part of her coverage.

“We gather in celebration of the Oscars on the ancestral lands of the Tongva, Tataviam and Chumash peoples, the traditional caretakers of this water and land. We honor and pay our respects to indigenous communities here and around the world.”

Social media mockery ensued, and rightly so.

The host of HBO’s “Real Time with Bill Maher” took that ribbing to a new, necessary level.

Bill Maher may be liberal, but he remains one of woke’s harshest critics. He had politics firmly in mind with his Friday night critique of Hough’s comments.

His main takeaway? She’s far from alone in sharing the land acknowledgement charade.

He started with a blast of common sense.

‘I’ve said it before, I’ll say it again—either give the land back or shut the f*** up!’

Maher made it a tad personal next.

‘I’m sure Julianne Hough is sincere about her love for the Chumash people, but I doubt she drives to work in a canoe, scavenges for acorns, or lives in a dome house made of reeds and dried mud.”

He then cut to the heart of the matter.

“Can we please get over this idea that ancient people weren’t just as full of s*** – in fact, more full of s*** – than humans today?’ he asked. ‘This idea that being ancient and Indigenous was always better than us? It wasn’t… The Māori in pre-colonial times were like most indigenous people – quite war-like, frequently fighting other tribes, with the winners enslaving the losers. And even eating them.”

He posted the HBO segment on X with a dire warning to his fellow Democrats.

Democrats, if you ever want to win an election again, the absolute most important first step is to stop doing this.

One of his followers put a fine point on Maher’s argument.

Maher loathes President Donald Trump and appears eager to vote Democrat in perpetuity. He also sees a party that has become a caricature.

That’s why he uses his “Real Time” pulpit to warn fellow progressives of the political dangers they face by clinging to those 80/20 issues.

Think allowing trans women to compete against biological women in sports.

Democrats have spent President Trump’s second term beclowning themselves on several fronts, including the cringey “Choose Your Fighter” meme.

Even far-Left host Jimmy Kimmel torched it.

They’d be wise to consider Maher’s warning before the midterm elections arrive.
