Severed Press, an independent publisher of horror and sci-fi since 2008, is one of the most prolific homes for Bigfoot fiction, giving the cryptid a key role in what are essentially B movie creature features in book form. Based in Tasmania, Australia, Severed Press was honored by This Is Horror Awards as Publisher of the Year in 2014.
Severed Press boasts an impressive stable of more than 200 writers – past and present – published under its brand, including Bram Stoker Award-winning authors Tim Waggoner, Gabino Iglesias, and Adam Cesare. Severed Press’s most productive authors are Eric S. Brown (72 titles) and Michael Cole (60 titles), according to its website.
I’ve read quite a few Severed Press titles, so I generated a Top 10 list to give readers of cryptid horror fiction a sample of what the publisher offers. All but one of the books are free for Amazon Kindle Unlimited subscribers or 99 cents for the e-book.
If you like low-budget Saturday night creature features, then you will probably enjoy many of the Bigfoot books on this list. Clicking on the titles will take you to their Amazon pages where they can be purchased.
