When the gates open at WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca next month in Monterey, California, for the highly anticipated, annual Rolex Monterey Motorsports Reunion (Aug. 13–16), racing enthusiasts will experience a full-throttle sensory celebration honoring the 75th anniversary of Formula 1. This year’s event promises to be one of the most spectacular in its history, bringing together some of the most legendary Formula 1 cars ever built for both competitive racing and a rare exhibition.
Fans will be treated to 25 authentic F1 cars from the 1966–1985 non-turbo era, roaring to life in the Mario Andretti Trophy race each day. These machines, powered by screaming 12-cylinder engines, include historic entries from Tyrrell, Williams, Ferrari, Lotus, and Brabham, offering spectators a glimpse (and sound) of Formula 1’s golden years.
In addition to the on-track action, more than 30 rarely seen historic F1 cars will be on display, many of which have never been showcased together before. The lineup spans decades: from a 1956 Maserati 250F and 1966 Eagle Mk1 to an 1986 Benetton B186, alongside modern marvels like the 2024 McLaren MCL38, driven by Lando Norris during the team’s World Constructors’ Championship-winning season.
“This will be a once-in-a-lifetime experience to see this jaw-dropping collection of cars and F1 history,” said Mel Harder, president and general manager of WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca.
Formula 1’s Chief Commercial Officer Emily Prazer added:
“It is an amazing event and to see historic cars back where they belong, pushing the limits of speed and performance, is always a special moment for our fans. This is a fitting commemoration of 75 incredible years of Formula 1.”
Whether you’re a lifelong racing fan or new to the sport, the Rolex Monterey Motorsports Reunion is an unmissable event.
