What does it feel like to be loved on a Tuesday and forgotten by Wednesday? Cali Rodi wanted every granular detail. Was she smiling? Did he hold her on the couch while Love Island played? How did the glitter from her eyelids end up stuck to his face? Her newest song unfolds through poignant, heartbreaking questions, tracing the small moments that quietly led to a painful goodbye.

After spending the night watching Season 2 of Sex and the City, Cali found herself turning those emotions into “The Last Day That You Loved Me.” The song’s emotional immediacy led her to share a raw acoustic performance on Instagram that same night, unexpectedly resonating with listeners almost instantly. Encouraged by the response, she later teamed up with producer Ben Zelico to fully develop the track.

Working alongside Zelico, Cali shaped a sound that channels early 2000s pop-rock through a full-bodied throwback that feels organic and genuine, as if it were a forgotten classic from the era rather than a modern release emulating a flanderized version of the sound.

Cali’s songwriting balances diaristic vulnerability with sharp pop instincts, helping establish her as an in-demand collaborator for artists including Heidi Montag, Knox, maryjo, Niki Demar, Kenzie Cait, and K-pop icon HYOLYN.

Beyond songwriting, she has secured sync placements with Disney Parks, Hulu’s The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives, and Fortnite and has also appeared as an opening act for sold-out performances by The Rocket Summer, Carlie Hanson, and Andi Mitchell.

After earning praise from Popsugar for her viral “Driver’s License” cover, Cali now moves toward her 2026 debut album with “The Last Day That You Loved Me” serving as an intimate introduction to this new chapter of her career.
