The New Orleans Saints will not be picking up the fifth-year option on DE Payton Turner’s contract, according to multiple reports. The Saints have not picked up DE Payton Turner’s fifth year option.— Tina Howell (@TinaHowellNOLA) May 3, 2024 Turner, the Saints’ first-round draft selection in the 2021 NFL Draft, has dealt with a rash of injuries in his first few seasons in the Crescent City. When he has been on the field, he has accumulated 38 total tackles and three sacks in three seasons. This news doesn’t come as a surprise as Turner will now have to stay on the field and produce if he wants to return with the Saints.
