Taxpayers no longer paying for business loans to illegal aliens. SBA exits sanctuary city Denver

Joe Biden’s policy of subsidizing his open borders scheme by shoveling taxpayer dollars towards business loans for companies owned by illegal aliens is over.

The Small Business Administration is enacting a citizenship verification provision to ensure businesses applying for aid or loans are not owned in whole or in part by illegal aliens.

The SBA is also removing the temptation by some government workers in sanctuary cities to continue the reckless spending and encouragement of illegal immigration with unchecked distribution of our tax dollars.

Major cities including Denver have been notified that SBA offices in sanctuary cities are being relocated to other U.S. cities that don’t have sanctuary status and abide by federal immigration laws.

The decision came on the heels of the disastrous performance by sanctuary city mayors, including Mike Johnston, during their appearance before Congress this week.

Colorado Republican U.S. Rep. Jeff Crank of Colorado Springs wasted no time in asking for the SBA office to relocate to his city.

“It is important that SBA offices are located not in major cities — dominated by large corporations and run-away governments — but in locations where safety is prioritized and innovation propels the local economy,” Crank said in a letter to SBA administrator Kelly Loeffler.

In making the announcement, Loeffler said lax guardrails at the agency allowed illegal aliens to both apply for and get approved for SBA assistance.

For example, during Biden’s term last summer, the agency approved a $783,000 loan application for a small business that was 49% owned by an illegal alien.

That loan has since been cancelled.

The culture of coddling, even encouraging the disregard for the legal process this country was founded upon is no longer being rewarded by Washington, D.C.

And progressives sure are pissed off about it.

We can’t wait to hear their excuse this time for funneling the agency’s $1.2 billion in taxpayer dollars for just this year to those who don’t even pay federal income taxes.
