The Green Bay Packers tied the Dallas Cowboys 40-40 in Week 4, a result that has drawn heavy criticism toward head coach Matt LaFleur.
Green Bay entered the season with high expectations but has struggled with blown leads and late-game mistakes.
The latest collapse against Dallas highlighted issues that have become a troubling pattern for the Packers.
Analyst Ben Brust did not hold back during a recent ESPN Milwaukee segment.
He focused on Green Bay’s offensive efficiency, noting the team scored on five consecutive red zone trips against one of the league’s best defenses, yet still failed to win.
“You have to win the game. You’ve scored five straight times in the red zone against this Dallas Cowboys team. Everything was going your way offensively. They should have won the freaking game. And you have to look at yourself in the mirror, Matt LaFleur. Are you a man or are you a mouse? You decided to be a mouse. You decided to think about Brandon Aubrey. They played soft. They played scared,” Brust said.

Brust’s critique centered on LaFleur’s decision-making in critical moments.
Despite the offense converting efficiently, defensive lapses and conservative clock management undermined Green Bay’s performance.
The coaching staff appeared hesitant when a touchdown attempt could have sealed the outcome, instead playing passively late in the game.
Special teams added to the frustration. While the Packers maintain resilience on the field, their inability to close out games and LaFleur’s management style remain core issues to address in the coming weeks.
The upcoming bye week provides an opportunity for LaFleur and his staff to address these issues.
Adjustments in playcalling aggression, clock strategy, and special teams coverage will be essential to prevent further missed opportunities.
