IPL 2026 Auction on December 16
In fact, there are indications, that CSK might just make Sanju Samson, their new recruit, after trade from RR, their vice-captain. Of course, MS Dhoni remains in his leadership role, but the opener is set to get responsibility in Chennai as well. On the other hand, PBKS might go with Shashank Singh for that role.
As far as the IPL 2026 retentions is concerned, there were a few surprise exclusions. Devon Conway and Matheesha Patirana were ousted by CSK, Mujeeb ur Rahman was let go by MI. As for DC, they bid adieu to Faf du Plessis. LSG released David Miller and Ravi Bishnoi. KKR somehow released Andre Russell.
Now, the IPL 2026 auction is set to take place on December 16 in Abu Dhabi. Also, it will just be a one-day event, since it is only a mini-auction and not many spaces are left to be filled, for all franchises.
