It is with immense excitement that I announce the official launch of our new dormitory project at Camp PaQuaTuck. This initiative represents a profound commitment to enhancing the camper experience, ensuring that every child who comes through our gates has access to safe, modern and supportive housing. For years our dedicated staff and volunteers have worked tirelessly within our existing facilities, but this new structure will allow us to expand our capacity and, most importantly, provide a universally accessible living environment that meets the highest standards of care. This project is more than just a building; it is a foundation for countless future memories and growth opportunities.

The design of the new dormitory is centered around inclusivity and functionality. It features large airy living spaces, state of the art climate control, and dedicated washroom facilities exceeding current standards. We have worked closely with architectural partners to ensure the space is fully compliant with all accessibility requirements, providing easy navigation and comfort for all our campers, regardless of their needs. We anticipate this facility will significantly reduce the demand on older cabins, allowing for targeted renovations elsewhere on the grounds.

The success of any endeavor at Camp PaQuaTuck is deeply intertwined with the generosity of our community. This project has been made possible through initial seed funding and the unwavering dedication of our board. However, we are now entering a crucial phase of fundraising to complete the interior furnishings and specialized equipment that will make this dormitory truly exceptional. I encourage every member of the Camp PaQuaTuck family to consider making a contribution. Your support, whether through financial donations or volunteer efforts, directly translates into smiles, confidence, and independence for the children and young adults we serve. Together, we are building a home away from home.

This project would not have been possible without the help and support of Suffolk County Executive Edward Romaine, Legislator James Mazzarella and Brookhaven Supervisor Dan Panico. Also, a very substantial monetary donation from a very generous donor.

Camp PaQuaTuck for the past 78 years has provided a summer camp experience for children and young adults with varying special needs, as well as other year-round programs. The camp is owned and operated by the Rotary Club of the Moriches.
