More than 2,000 of the world’s top-performing travel professionals experienced the very best of Thailand when Bangkok hosted the Flight Centre Global Gathering 2026 from 10–12 July, reinforcing the kingdom’s position as a leading global tourism and MICE destination.

As Flight Centre Travel Group’s flagship annual event, the Global Gathering brought together frontline travel consultants, executives and business leaders from across Australia, New Zealand, the UK, Canada, South Africa, the United States and other international markets. For the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT), the event provided an invaluable opportunity to place Thailand directly in front of the travel professionals who inspire and influence millions of holiday decisions each year.
“Hosting an event of this scale allows travel advisors to experience Thailand first-hand, giving them the confidence and inspiration to recommend the destination to their clients,” said TAT Governor Thapanee Kiatphaibool.
She noted that the event aligns closely with TAT’s Value over Volume strategy and its “Healing is the New Luxury” tourism direction, showcasing Thailand’s strengths in wellness, culture, gastronomy, authentic hospitality and responsible tourism while creating meaningful economic benefits for local communities.

A Showcase of Thai Experiences
Led by the TAT Sydney Office, the event programme was carefully designed to immerse delegates in authentic Thai culture from the moment they arrived.
Registration activities at Bangkok Marriott Marquis Queen’s Park and Hyatt Regency Bangkok Sukhumvit introduced delegates to Thailand’s renowned hospitality through interactive cultural experiences and demonstrations of Nuat Thai, the traditional Thai massage recognised by UNESCO as Intangible Cultural Heritage.
Business networking was equally important. More than 500 Flight Centre executives, international partners and Thai tourism businesses gathered at the Sponsor Networking Lunch at Baan Dusit Thani, creating valuable opportunities for suppliers to build relationships and showcase quality tourism products from across the country.
The conference itself was held at UOB Live, followed by the Global Awards Dinner at Impact Arena, while Flight Fest at Asiatique The Riverfront celebrated Thailand’s vibrant food, entertainment and festival culture.

Beyond the Conference
To ensure delegates experienced Bangkok beyond the meeting venues, TAT curated a range of destination experiences highlighting the city’s diverse character.
Guided tours explored the historic neighbourhoods of Bang Rak, Yaowarat and Talat Noi, allowing delegates to discover local communities, street food, heritage architecture and contemporary creative precincts. Another memorable highlight was an evening at the iconic Rajadamnern Stadium, where delegates witnessed the excitement and tradition of Muay Thai, one of Thailand’s most celebrated cultural exports.
Sustainability also formed part of the programme, with a portion of registration proceeds donated to the National Elephant Institute under Royal Patronage and the Thai Elephant Conservation Center in Lampang, supporting ongoing elephant conservation initiatives.
Strengthening Thailand’s Position
While the event is expected to generate approximately 262 million baht in tourism revenue, its long-term value extends far beyond the immediate economic impact. By giving influential travel advisors an authentic experience of Thailand’s culture, hospitality and tourism offerings, the Global Gathering strengthens the destination’s profile in key long-haul markets—particularly Australia—and helps shape future travel demand.
Bangkok’s successful hosting of Flight Centre Global Gathering 2026 further demonstrated the city’s outstanding international air connectivity, world-class event infrastructure and diverse tourism experiences. More importantly, it showcased Thailand’s continued commitment to quality tourism—welcoming visitors seeking meaningful experiences while delivering lasting benefits to local communities.
As thousands of delegates returned home inspired by their time in Thailand, they also became ambassadors for the destination, sharing first-hand knowledge with travellers around the world and reinforcing Thailand’s reputation as one of the world’s most rewarding places to visit.
