CMLL (FRI) 11/21/2025 Arena México [CMLL, Infobae, Kaiser Sports, The Gladiatores, thecubsfan]
1) Alexius & Péndulo b Poseidón & Troglodita

11:11
2) Calavera Jr. I & Calavera Jr. II DQ El Coyote & Pólvora

Coyote & Polvora unmasked Calavera Jr. I & Calavera Jr. II for the DQ. Challenges followed.
3) Olympia & Zeuxis b La Jarochita & Lluvia

10:38.
4) Máscara Dorada & Neón b Kevin Knight & Speedball Mike Bailey

20:07. First person pinned to a finish; Dorada beat Knight.
5) Soberano Jr. b Hechicero, Euforia, Ángel de Oro, Último Guerrero [Leyenda de Azul, semifinal]

Order of elimination: Angel de Oro (3:00, via Ultimo Guerrero), Ultimo Guerrero (6:43, via Hechicero), Euforia (17:57, via Hechicero) and Hechicero (26:05, via Soberano) leaving Soberano Jr. as the winner. He joins Mistico and Saturday’s winner in the final next Friday.
6) Komander & Místico b Bárbaro Cavernario & The Beast Mortos

13:22. Billed as first person gets beat to the finish, though it ended with Komander beating Cavernario and Mistico submitting Mortos.
This was not a sell out, and didn’t look all that close. Closer to 75% full than 100%, surprisingly.
All CMLL/AEW matches are now US pinfall rules – one fall, match is over when one person on a team gets pinned or submitted (not elimination rules.) Everything else – tags, 20 count – is normal CMLL rules. It’s unclear why this is happening. It didn’t seem like a wrestler-driven decision; JetSpeed/Sky Team did double pinfall spots, and the main event ended with a pinfall and a submission anyway.
Both of those AEW/CMLL matches delivered. The JetSpeed/Sky Team match was a little bit more emotional than a typical “dream match.” JetSpeed worked as strong rudos opposite Sky Team, and that clear distinction between good and evil sides played well for this Arena Mexico crowd. They still did all the crazy offense you’d expect, it was just mixed in with a lot more taunting and comebacks. There was one flub early – Neon was supposed to get cut off on his El Asteroide dive by Bailey and instead cut himself off – but everything else went really well and the two teams showed great chemistry. This was a great match, and Dorada’s second best match of the weekend.
Komander talked before the match about admiring Mistico a lot and wanting to earn his respect even more than wrestle against him. Mistico showed him a lot of respect in this match, setting him up for big spots and deferring to him in moments. Mistico’s not going to outfly Komander, but he could’ve also made him look like the junior partner. Mistico instead seemed to want Komander to come off as important as him.
This Leyenda de Azul block went overally, especially the section between Guerrero getting eliminated and Euforia. It was mostly the same stuff for longer than it needed to be. The women seemed to get less time than usual, and just did all the highspots they could fit in. They pulled them off better than usual, even if they didn’t all fit together. The finish seemed to indicate a tag title match was coming yet there was no challenge. Match two is the same match that’s on every show right now. The tecnicos in the opener didn’t have a good night, especially Pendulo. They’re still new, yet there should be a bit more progression there.
CMLL (SAT) 11/22/2025 Arena Coliseo [CMLL, Estilo Lucha Libre, thecubsfan]
1) Galaxy & Shockercito b Minos I & Minos II
13:43.
2) Barboza & Yutani b Futuro & Max Star
18:06. Referee Olimpico counted three when the tecnicos appeared to kick out at 2.99.
3) Bárbaro Cavernario b Gemelo Diablo I, Gemelo Diablo II, Stuka Jr., Rugido [Leyenda de Azul, semifinal]
Order of elimination: Rugido (8:56, via Stuka), both Gemelo Diablos (12:18, via Stuka & Cavernario), Stuka Jr. (21:23, via Cavernario) leaving Cavernario as the third finalist. He joins Mistico and Soberano in the final next Friday.
4) Templario & Titán DCOR El Hijo del Villano III & Villano III Jr.
18:29. Templario appeared to think he suffered an elbow injury on a Villano III Jr. springboard senton and rolled out of the ring. Los Villanos and Titan briefly skirmished on the outside, the doctor checked and released Templario, everyone came back in, but Edgar had already counted them out.
5) Komander & The Beast Mortos b Atlantis Jr. & Difunto [Relevos Increíbles]
16:59. Mortos defeated Difunto
This was not advertised as a sellout. It looked closer to one than Saturday; that fourth level was pretty full, and those are the last seats to fill up.
Komander and Mortos have worked hard in all their matches this trip. This one seemed as though they might take the foot off the gas a bit, but it was another good effort and the best of three tag matches on this show. The CMLL guys kind of worked as the rudo team in that match, which was a surprising choice. Difunto is good at being thrown around by Mortos.
It was also the only one without the referees getting in the way. I think Edgar just decided match 4 was done once Templario got hurt and rolled out. It may have that he lost control of the match, but it felt like he just decided that was enough. (Templario was back in the gym on Sunday. Really, he looked like he was good to go after a few seconds on the outside.) Olimpico not only messed up the match two finish, he spent the next thirty seconds drawing attention with a mini-fit. Often, you’ll see the wrestlers get upset on a bad three-count; only with Olimpico will you see the referee get upset about it, too.
This was the one Leyenda de Azul qualifier I actually kind of liked. They gave the first three guys something to do before getting out of there, and the Cavernario/Stuka final section was really well done. Everyone assumed Cavernario was going to win. The announcers sold hard that idea that Stuka has a lot of big wins in this building (two masks wins, the Arena Coliseo Tag Titles) and maybe he could get one more. He did not get one more, but the thought was nice. CMLL could go with any one of Soberano, Mistico, or Cavernario on Friday
The CMLL trios title match on Full Gear went exactly as expected. They carried it over from the pre-show to the PPV The focus was on Okada/Takeshita, and Mistico beat Hechicero with La Mistica. They did some screwy stuff with Okada showing up late and Mistico getting taken out ot counter the sides. It was not a great match; they were not trying to have one either. The focus was on reminding AEW fans for the twelfth time that Okada and Takeshita don’t like each other. The Sky Team and Hechicero were scenery.
Both Okada and Takeshita are next in the Continental Classic, where they will probably meet in the final. That tournament is going to be fun for a dispassionate onlooker: NJPW fans already blame AEW for many (though not all) of NJPW’s problems in the last few years, and they are going to be furious if IWGP champ Takeshita takes any losses in AEW ring before he headlines their biggest show of the year. (It probably doesn’t actually matter a lot for NJPW business, but it’d be taken as a massive sign of disrespect to their fanbase, especially the English-speaking fans.) I think AEW respects NJPW enough that they wouldn’t have Takeshita lose without NJPW’s knowledge or approval, but that also means we all kind of know the finish of this C2 tournament before it starts: Takeshita takes no losses and beats The Greatest Tournament Wrestler Ever in the first match of a more extended feud between Takeshita and Okada. The tension isn’t the outcome; it’s whether AEW antagonizes a fanbase along the way.
CMLL (SUN) 11/23/2025 Arena México [CMLL, thecubsfan]

8:39. Sangre Imperial unmasked Coyote by DQ.

3) Futuro, Hombre Bala Jr., Max Star, Valiente Jr. b Dark Magic, El Gallero, Espanto Jr., Vegas Depredador

15:05. Vegas Depredador replaced Dark Magic on Saturday
4) Kevin Knight & Speedball Mike Bailey b Ángel de Oro & Soberano Jr.

17:27. Angel de Oro had a knee injury but finished the match.
5) Gran Guerrero © b The Beast Mortos [CMLL HEAVY]

19:11. 7th defense. Great match.
6) Máscara Dorada © b Komander [NWA WELTER]

18:11. 3rd defense. Excellent match.
CMLL surprise streamed this one, though they did announce it a few hours ahead of time and made it only for Fan Leyenda viewers. You got your money’s worth out of the two main events. Dorada/Komander was the expected fireworks show, but they went above and beyond and hit pretty much everything. The barricade Spanish Fly spot would be one replayed forever, if CMLL were the sort of promotion that replayed clips from previous shows in a sizzle reel. Arena Mexico had what seemed like a strong crowd for a Sunday show, but it was nothing compared to the Friday shows. The crowd reacted strong to this match, but it may have felt even bigger on a Friday night. Gran Guerrero/the Beast Mortos was really good too. Komander/Dorada were two friends getting to have their match in front of Arena Mexico, Guerrero/Mortos was a CMLL guy with something to prove, and an AEW guy who was going to give him the chance to prove it. Mortos gave a lot to Guerrero in this match, and Guerrero showed off a lot of impressive offense on a big (for CMLL) guy. He obviously hears the criticism that he’s not a worthy heavyweight champion and set out to prove he’s good, and he had a pretty good match. You could see his happiness in pulling it off as much as Dorada and Komander after the main event.
This JetSpeed match was even more about working heel and getting heat than the Friday one, and it didn’t have the action some might have hoped for. I was surprised that the AEW guys were the heels – I think it might have been a better match if the CMLL rudos stayed rudo – but it was fine. Los Viajeros couldn’t do all their flying with Ola Negra (and with Raider not involved); they still did a lot in the third fall of match 3. Match 2 was a nicely worked tecnico/tecnico match until the DQs hit, and the first match was the same finish with less interesting work before it.
After the show, CMLL put out a video with Gran Guerrero challenging anyone in AEW to come after him for the title. That seems like a perfect match for an AEW vs CMLL show, if that’s happening again in a few weeks. (They ought to announce it this week if it’s on.) That’s one where a title change also seems plausible – someone AEW sort of wants to push but not so much that they’d actually give him one of AEW’s dozen titles would fit as a Gran Guerrero challenger and eventual CMLL champion. Later that night, Powerhouse Hobbs teased interest in this title.
In his post-match interview, Mascara Dorada went over his schedule for the week. We thought he at least had Thursday off, but he mentioned he wrestled on a private show in Mexico City. Dorada said he respects and admires Komander as a luchador; he watched his videos when he was starting out and tried to do his moves. Dorada says he went to a local show (Big Lucha) when he was still Panterita del Ring Jr. to see Komander wrestle, he was invited back to the locker room, and he and Komander took a picture together. He feels like that was a big turning point in his mindset as a luchador. Dorada says he told Komander that one day they’d have a match, and they got to do that Sunday.
CMLL (TUE) 11/25/2025 Arena México
1) Astral & Eléctrico vs Diamond & Oro Jr.
2) Calavera Jr. I & Calavera Jr. II vs Cancerbero & Virus
3) India Sioux, La Catalina, Tessa Blanchard vs Olympia, Reyna Isis, Zeuxis
4) Explosivo & Xelhua vs El Cobarde & Guerrero Maya Jr.
5) Máscara Dorada, Templario, Titán vs Magnus, Rugido, Volador Jr.
6) Neón vs Ángel de Oro
Neon/Oro is still on for the moment. Match 4 has old rivals Xelhua & Maya, and recent rivals Explosivo & Cobarde. Virus & Cancerbero have not yet been in a match that ends up in a DQ, and may in that Match 2.
Ticketmaster’s schedule lists CMLL shows on 12/23 and 12/26, so that confirms they’re not running on Christmas for the first time in eight years. That’s just the holidays landing on a Thursday this year. I’m sure many of the CMLL wrestlers will still be working that day.
In the way that every luchador was secretly on a professional soccer team, Rugido says he was part of Cruz Azul’s youth academy and was loaned out to Pachucho and Guadalajara reserve teams, which play in Mexico’s third division. Rugido was a striker.
MVS’s free stream has been down for two weeks, and so I haven’t seen their Guerreros del Ring show in a couple of weeks. It usually disappears for a week or so once a year, and it’s not a big deal because they’re primarily airing the Tuesday show. I think I can actually get MVS with my IPTV stream, but that stream doesn’t work as well, and it’s definitely not worth the effort of paying for a slightly edited version of matches CMLL is already streaming.
AAA
AAA TV (SAT) 11/22/2025 Gimnasio Olímpico Juan de la Barrera, Ciudad de México, Distrito Federal [AAA, Mas Lucha, thecubsfan]
(first four matches saved for future TV episode?)
1) La Parka b Galeno del Mal
2) Abismo Negro b Pimpinela Escarlata
Fiscal confronted Abismo Negro after the match, said he wanted the name.
3) Faby Apache & Natayla b Flammer & La Hiedra
Hiedra and (the returning) Maravilla attacked Natalya post match.
4) Apollo Crews b Lince Dorado
Lince Dorado made an open challenge. It was answered by WWE’s Crews, who had been off with injury since January.
(live portion)
5) Octagón Jr. b Je’von Evans, Axiom [AAA CRUISER, #1 Contenders]
12:14. Evans pinned Axiom and will be one of two challengers on 12/20. He and Lareod Kid faced off post match.
6) Dave The Clown, Murder Clown, Pagano, Psycho Clown b El Mesías, Forastero, Mecha Wolf, Sansón
12:08. Dorian Roldan walked out on his team after the match. Psycho Clown challenged Wyatt Sick6, who sent in a video saying they’d face them on 12/20.
7) Chelsea Green & Ethan Page © b Lola Vice & Mr. Iguana [AAA MIXED TAG]
6:54. 2nd defense. Page pinned Iguana, who took a cane shot meant for Vice. Wagner 3 tried to make the save post match, failed.
8) Dominik Mysterio & Grande Americano b Dragón Lee & Hijo Del Vikingo
16:58. Americano pinned Lee after Vikingo betrayed Lee; they had problems all match (and will likely wrestle on 12/20). Mysterio put an open challenge, which was answered by the Lucha Brothers. Mysterio accepted and declared himself and Grande Americano as Los Gringos Locos 2.0.
AAA posted on social media that the building was full, though they never announced it as sold out. That same post said it was the last show in Mexico City for the year. No next date in Mexico City was announced. Ticket site Boletomovil typically has the next show and currently has no lucha libre events. MAX also tends to have a link for the next stream up ahead of time, and that’s not happening for different reasons.
Before AAA went on the air, AAA apparently told the live crowd that this would be the last episode on Space. I didn’t hear the announcers bring this up during the broadcast, and AAA hasn’t put out anything on social media confirming they’re leaving this WBD Mexico network. It is plausible that AAA meant the episode they were taping – the matches before they went live – was actually the final episode, and there will be one last show next week. There’s been no further information on this.
Canal Space didn’t air the scheduled AAA episode two weeks ago. Roldan AAA would’ve had no choice but just to complain and deal with it; they needed whatever Space was paying for media rights and the exposure. TKO AAA has a WWE YouTube, which likely gets more live views than people watching on Canal Space, and the amount Space was paying is relatively nothing. I’ve overwitten this the last few weeks but one more time: the mission of AAA right now is to get over in the US and get that US media rights money, and they can’t do it when most of their live shows are stuck behind a “Mexico only” geoblock. AAA is like a startup tech company right now, where the entire goal is to get as big a user/viewer base as possible, and they’ll work on monetizing only after that number gets sufficiently large enough.
The big question right now is what does that AAA content look like outside of Space. AAA still has to produce content for their other TV deals, but they’re of low inportance. AAA has stopped promoting them; I’m not sure if they’re still on A+ or Multimedios, and those are not going to drive AAA’s decision-making. AAA/TKO are in place where AAA TV could be anything they want it to be. Will it still be the same mix of 42-minute episodes and monthly live shows that only show half the tapings? Something closer to what AAA was doing on Twitch, with full tapings airing live at an irregular schedule? Something closer to what TKO knows from the US, with live shows on the same day every week? That’s one where we won’t know anything until AAA says something. I’m more intrigued about this than anything I see happening in an AAA ring.
(You don’t have to care about this, but AAA is leaving Canal Space and going to save me money. I think between the shaky IPTV service, the VPN I wasn’t really using except for AAA shows, and the HBO Max subscription to get the live shows, that’s like $40/month I’ve been spending on AAA over the last few months. That’s more than I’m spending on CMLL! I’m gonna be rich if they’re streaming on YouTube from now on.)
I didn’t care for most of the matches on the show; the TV opener is the only one worth watching. That three-way match played out as a much higher-quality version of how Laredo Kid was part of the episode of Evolve. Axiom and Evans wrestled much of the match directly against each other, and worked in the Octagon Jr. where they could. That made some sense in Evolve; they clearly didn’t have plans for Laredo beyond the one guest appearance. Read it into what you want for Octagon Jr. and AAA. Laredo Kid did guest commentary because this is a WWE show, and that’s what you do on WWE shows when you’re the champ and a #1 contender’s match is happening. He had room to improve there.
The 4v4 match was turned into a no DQ match to get around the clown’s limitations. I never thought it’d be news that the cookie sheets return. It was still sort of a generic WWE match, not feeling like Psycho and Pagano’s matches of old. They inchded along in the “Dorian is going to dump all the heels to get with Vikingo” and “Wyatt Sick6 and the clowns are going to wrestle, eventually” subplots. Notable is that this was a tag team feud at the start – the Wyatt Sick6 kept holding up the tag team belts after the beatdowns – and now it seems like Dave and Murder got added so they could do a 4v4 match on 12/20 instead. The Wyatts were probably not winning the tag titles, just too much of a nuisance, but they can certainly pin Dave the Clown if that’s what they’re doing instead.
The mixed tag match was the same semi-comedy match they did in Monterrey, just with Vice in the match instead of on commentary. They’ll do a rematch at some point – though not on 12/20, since Page already is wrestling Wagner.
The work in the main event wasn’t very interesting or good. Last month, Vikingo was doing his high spots with heel gestures in between. This month, Vikingo was just doing his heel stuff with almost none of what made Vikingo special. That’s not going to work. The Hijo del Vikingo/Dragon Lee match should still be great, though this is not the optimal scenario for it. It surprised me that they didn’t have Fenix and Penta there in person to make the challenge; that’s precisely the sort of viral moment they’re looking for, and they did it with a pre-taped video instead. Fenix & Penta have the same issue as everyone else: the crowd has decided Grande and Domink are the good guys, and the AAA announce crew is going along with it, at least for Grande. The Lucha Brothers are not going to get swalled up like Vikingo and others, but their promo acted as Grande and Dominik as despicable heels, and that’s not what is going on right now.
In the past few years, AAA has had FTR cosplaying as Los Gringos Locos, QT Marshall and Sam Adonis declaring themselves the new Los Gringos Locos (and then AAA backing off) and now Dominik Mysterio and Grande Americano announcing themselves as Los Gringos Locos. The 1994 When World’s Collide show was great because it introduced AAA to people who didn’t know it otherwise. It’s also kind of a handcuff, with US wrestlers constantly trying to revive that exact moment. Few pay attention to AAA beyond that, so they’ve got nothing else to draw on and no realization that the same bit has been done repeatedly. This particular bit fits Dominik because Dominik’s gimmick is that he believes he’s the new Eddie Guerrero while actually being a pale imitation. A pale imitation would obviously try to redo Los Gringos Locos. I think that character choice is too subtle for WWE fans and it may even be too subtle for the performer. (Los Gringos Locos doesn’t fit Grande Americano at all, at least with his choice to play the character as someone who loves Mexico and is loved by Mexico.) It’s well-trodden ground for anyone who watches AAA, but the promotion seems written by people who either don’t know AAA or can’t remember what they did before.
(Also, as “Mistik 2.0” quickly realized, calling yourself “2.0” something is some dated nerd stuff; I hope they don’t actually use 2.0 unless it’s meant to be a comical bit.)
Apollo Crews was a high upside prospect coming into WWE a decade ago. He seems well-liked by his colleagues. It’s also been a decade for him in the WWE; it’s never happened for him, and it seems unlikely it ever will. Most recently, Crews has been out since January with a pectoral injury, but that has simply sidelined him from dark matches and from getting a TV match once every few months. WWE Wikipedia entries tend to be insanely detailed, and even they can’t find much to say about his career in the last three years. If Crews is in AAA to work out the remaining dates on his contract and put over someone, as was the case with Ridge Holland, that makes a bit of sense. It’s not immediately clear who would fit that bill, and it obviously did not work out well for Holland, but Crews coming in to help someone with a longer future would be fine. If WWE is sending Crews to AAA so AAA can get Crews over, then that’s another troubling sign for AAA and the wrestlers who are contracted just to that promotion. The promotion is hot, the crowds are loud, no one’s inclined to listen to criticism, but making AAA about the last few guys on the WWE roster instead of the Mexicans will harm the promotion gravely in the long term. I hope that’s not the plan here.
“100% IWRG” Maravilla seems to have a spot in AAA again because WWE wants to run a trios match (Faby, Natayla, and Lola Vice for 12/20?) Though that’s all a sign that they’d rather preserve the existing Las Toxicas group rather than using any of the other AAA women which have dabbled on these shows. Pimpinela Escarlata has not previously had a singles match on AAA TV in about a decade. The people in charge previously understood that this stage of Pimpienla Escarlata is not built for more than a few minutes of wrestling. (The low-key controversy of the week was May Flowers on Latin Lover’s podcast, critical of Pimpinela for only doing exotico spots and not wrestling anymore, which is obviously true, but no one’s supposed to point out.) The people in charge now may just not trust more than a few people on TV. It’s the only reason I can think of why Galeno del Mal is losing to La Parka instead of any one of the people they seem to have under contract but never book for TV. Maybe something will happen to explain it when it airs on TV. Meanwhile, Fiscal has gone from having his feud with Abismo Negro dropped cold to starting a heel turn to dropping the heel turn and restarting the feud with Abismo (while hitting the catchphrase.) It feels like the people in charge are still trying to figure out their bearings here.
The next taping is Friday night in Puebla. That show is listed as an 8:30 pm start time, same as CMLL. No idea when the stream might start, if there’s one. There’s one new match for it: AAA announced Monday that the second #1 contenders match will have the Cruiserweight title with Jack Cartwheel vs Elio LeFeleur vs Chris Carter.
It’s possible you vaguely remember Chris Carter was in the Alas de Oro tournament or that you’re familiar with him based on his frequent appearances in Guadalajara indies. I’m guessing that’s few people. I wonder if that was supposed to be a Mini Vikingo spot – he was Carter’s partner in the Alas de Oro and they are in his home of Puebla – and WWE decided Mini Vikingo wasn’t high on the idea of putting someone that young on TV.
It’s still more than the second guy. “Elio Lefeleur” is an entirely unrecognizable name; only by looking at his photo is it somewhat clear that this French wrestler Aigle Blanc’s WWE name. He signed a few months ago and rebranded his social media accounts after this match announcement. Very few people in Mexico would have any idea who Aigle Blanc; maybe one or two might remember he visited CMLL for a week in 2019 as Aguila Blanca, but that’s pushing it. He’s very good, but that’s not how you roll out someone you want people to care about. (And he’s a masked man from France wrestling in Mexico as “Elio Lefeleur?” The promotion of Antonio Pena can’t come up with a better name or gimmick for him?)
The final – Laredo Kid, Je’von Evans, and maybe Cartwheel or Lefleur – will be a great match at minimum. They’re all really talented, they’re good at what they do, and there may be a mission here to try to surpass the similar sort of matches that CMLL has been running this year; “we can do it too” kind of thing.
The Guadalajara show looks fairly complete.
AAA TV (SAT) 12/20/2025 Arena Guadalajara, Guadalajara, Jalisco
3) Je’von Evans vs Laredo Kid ©, ? [AAA CRUISER]
4) Dave The Clown, Murder Clown, Pagano, Psycho Clown vs Dexter Lemus, Erick Rowan, Joe Gacy, Uncle Howdy
5) Hijo de Dr. Wagner Jr. © vs Ethan Page [AAA LA]
6) Dragón Lee vs Hijo Del Vikingo
7) Penta & Rey Fénix vs Domink Mysterio & Grande Americano
They’ll add a women’s match – probably Faby/Natayla/Vice vs Flammer/Hiedra/Vice. Rey Mysterio Jr. is supposed to appear, but there’s no obvious spot for him to wrestle unless they’re bringing in more WWE people. I was certain he’d wrestle Dominik on this show or Survivor Series, but they’re doing a Cena/Dominik match there. Maybe they are slowly playing that out for WrestleMania, like they slow play most things, and so he doesn’t wrestle – just shows up to make the challenge again.
