There are some love stories that begin exactly where you least expect them.

For Rebecca and Thomas, their story started in 2017 while working together at Paul Miller Audi. Thomas worked in sales while Rebecca greeted guests as the receptionist. What began as a workplace friendship quickly grew into something much more, eventually leading them to a beautiful wedding day surrounded by family, friends, and thoughtful details that reflected their relationship.

Set against the stunning waterfront views of Rock Island Lake Club, their wedding day was filled with meaningful moments, elegant blue details, and an overwhelming sense of joy from everyone gathered to celebrate.

From Coworkers to Forever

When asked how they met, Rebecca laughs that their story is a bit cliché.

“We met at Paul Miller Audi in 2017 where we both used to work. He was in sales and I was the receptionist.”

Years later, their relationship led them to one of their favorite destinations—the Finger Lakes wine region in New York.

The couple regularly visits the area several times a year, making it the perfect place for Thomas to propose. Surrounded by vineyards, beautiful scenery, and a place already filled with special memories, Rebecca said yes to forever.

A Wedding Inspired by Thoughtful Blue Details

Rather than choosing a traditional “something blue,” Rebecca and Thomas incorporated shades of blue throughout nearly every aspect of their wedding day.

From their custom invitation suite to the bridesmaids’ sky blue gowns, Thomas’s tuxedo details, reception linens, and carefully selected décor, the color palette created a timeless and cohesive design that flowed beautifully from ceremony to reception.

The result was elegant, classic, and effortlessly romantic.

Getting Ready at Rock Island Lake Club

One of the most memorable parts of any wedding day is the anticipation before the ceremony.

As Rebecca spent the morning getting ready with her closest friends and family, there was an undeniable excitement in the air. Between final touches, happy tears, and plenty of laughter, every moment built toward the day they had been planning together.

Meanwhile, Thomas prepared alongside his groomsmen, eager for the moment they would finally see each other.

Garden-Inspired Florals for a Romantic Celebration

As the floral designer, one of our favorite parts of this wedding was bringing Rebecca and Thomas’s vision to life through flowers.

The floral design complemented the soft blue palette while adding movement, texture, and romance throughout the venue. From the bouquets to the ceremony florals and reception arrangements, every design element was created to enhance the beauty of Rock Island Lake Club while reflecting the couple’s timeless style.

The combination of soft blooms, natural greenery, and waterfront views created an atmosphere that felt elegant without sacrificing warmth and personality.

Portraits Along the Lake

After the ceremony, Rebecca and Thomas spent time exploring the property with Fox & Hare Photography, capturing portraits against the stunning lakeside scenery.

The waterfront views, natural landscape, and soft light provided the perfect setting for photographs that felt authentic and romantic. These quiet moments together offered a chance for the newlyweds to soak in the significance of the day before joining their guests for the celebration ahead.

Celebrating with Family and Friends

While beautiful details certainly make a wedding memorable, Rebecca shared that what she looked forward to most was something much simpler.

“I’m excited to marry my best friend and have all our friends and family together to celebrate with us—that is not something that happens often.”

As the evening unfolded, that vision became reality.

Heartfelt speeches, incredible music, and a packed dance floor filled the reception with energy and excitement. Surrounded by the people who have supported them throughout their journey, Rebecca and Thomas celebrated the start of their marriage exactly as they had hoped.

Advice for Future Couples

When asked what advice they would give other couples planning a wedding, Rebecca offered a reminder that many engaged couples need to hear:

“While it’s easy to get lost in the many details, try not to sweat the small stuff. Only you know how you are picturing things to go. None of your guests will know if a certain song was supposed to be played over another, so just let go of your stress and make the most of the day because it will go so quick.”

It’s the perfect advice—and a beautiful reflection of the joyful, relaxed spirit that defined their wedding day.
