June 28th Disney World welcomed the grand opening of Tiana’s Bayou Adventure, a new attraction that promises to captivate the hearts of guests of all ages. Located in Magic Kingdom, this enchanting new ride transports guests to the wonderful world of Princess Tiana, inspired by Disney’s Princess and the Frog.
On opening day, guests were greeted with a lively celebration, featuring music, dancing, and a special appearance by Princess Tiana herself.
The Journey Begins
As you embark on Tiana’s Bayou Adventure, you are instantly transported to the Louisiana bayou, where Tiana and her friends are preparing for Mardi Gras. The journey is filled with whimsical scenes, vibrant colors, and fun toe-tapping music.
Immersive Storytelling and Cutting-Edge Technology used on Tiana’s Bayou Adventure
One of the standout features of Tiana’s Bayou Adventure is its innovative use of cutting-edge technology. The ride features advanced animatronics, stunning visual effects, and an immersive sound system that brings the story to life like never before.
Our Experience
While I loved Splash Mountain, it’s been a long time favorite of mine not because of the songs or characters but because I genuinely love the actual ride. Floating in a long flume down the river with fun dops and the possibility of getting soaked is what keeps me coming back time and time again.
When I heard that Splash Mountain was schedule to be reimagined to the Princess and the Frog, I was ecstatic. Princess and the Frog is one of my favorite Disney movies and I don’t have any ties to the Song of the South or Splash Mountain.
My one big fear was that Disney wouldn’t live up to my high expectations of what the ride should be.
Once we joined the queue line, I could instantly feel that this would not be the case. The queue line wraps around outside of the ride the same way Splash Mountain did but with some subtle changes.
Including vibrant new colors, murals and jazz music playing in the background.
Once you enter the building, you will immediately notice that everything has been updated to the journey and success of Princess Tiana and her successful restaurant. The walls are covered with letters from Tiana’s father and newspaper articles featuring the restaurant.
New areas have been added to look and smell like the restaurant and Tiana’s kitchen.
Once you board the ride, you will be tasked to help Princess Tiana find some small creatures that can really swing and play music just like Louis. Infact, Louis will join you on your quest.
With help from Mama Ode, you will be shrunk down to the size of a frog to get a really good look into the bayou. On your journey you will find lots of new singing and music playing animals to join Tiana’s celebration.
Once you have found what Tiana is looking for, Mama Ode while turn you back human to enjoy the Marde Gra celebration.
While some people who really loved Splash Mountain are throwing a fit, saying that the ride is terrible, or that it breaks down all the time, we disagree.
This ride was not only the same set up as Splash Mountain but it’s a story line that makes sense. We found the new ride very enjoyable and I left feeling nothing but excitement and joy.
It’s been a while since a ride has brought that big of a smile to my face.
My advice is, take the ride and just sit back and enjoy the show with an open mind. I think this ride will be a huge success once it gets past the rocky opening faze.
