You’ve heard me say it before, but every morning, I wake up the house.

I know.  I get it.

It’s a little random. I just can’t help it.

I’m in a committed relationship with my house.

And when I wake up and stretch and drink some water and walk into the family room, and the sunshine is streaming in through the windows?

I have to greet the room.

Right?

Doesn’t it look like a space just waiting for a little conversation?

A room that understands the assignment.

So I start a conversation that goes like this.

// spring planter pot //

// retro bird poster //

// bird nest with eggs  // set of topiaries // topiary //

// kitchen chandelier // roman shades // topiary // set of topiaries // topiary //

// topiary // set of topiaries // topiary // bird nest with eggs //

Hello kitchen.

I’m so all about you today.

Those topiaries?

That plate rack.

That bird poster we just hung on the chalkboard?

You’ve never looked so cute.

// peonies // pink flowers //

// peonies // pink flowers //

Hello hutch.

I’m so all about you today.

Those little pops of pink faux flowers.

That white platter?

Those stacks of books and that adorable bunny butter tray?

You are SUCH a rock star.

A modern laundry room with two front-load washing machines under a counter displaying a decorative sign reading "laundry co. wash, dry, & fold," a wicker basket, small potted flowers,

// basket (similar)//

// similar laundry sign //

// galvanized carry-all (similar) //

A neat laundry room corner with a white washing machine, topped with decorative items including a sign, fresh flowers in various containers, and a framed paintbrush to decorate your walls.

Hello, laundry room.

I love your metal sign.

And those tiny pots of greenery we just added.

And the sunshine tiptoeing in through the dutch door.

You are amazing.

A variety of small potted and basketed green plants are arranged on a white shelf, with framed wall art and a beige lamp in the background, creating a cozy and natural home decor display.

Hello family room.

I love that round wood tray.

And the row of topiaries.

And all the fluffy pillows.

The football playoffs were so much fun last night.

But then Buffalo lost.

I’m not sure if we are going to recover.

And while this entire conversation is going on?

I’m fluffing and rearranging and picking up and turning on lamps and lighting candles.

And I just added one new thing to my morning wake-up tradition.

A glass candle warmer lamp with a gold frame and wooden base holds a candle decorated with cheerful snowmen in scarves and hats, all set on a kitchen counter with a white tile backsplash.

// candle warmer //

A candle warmer like this.

You can see this one here.

Have you tried a warmer like this yet?

It is SUCH A GAME CHANGER.

You just turn it on and add a candle liek this and the entire room smells so cozy. Isn’t that candle so cute? Guess where it came from?

Five gifts wrapped in brown paper and tied with red string are stacked together. Each package has a month written on it: March, April, May, June, and February.

A package wrapped in brown paper and tied with red string is labeled "February" with a heart. It is stacked under another similar package labeled "June.

The candle was part of my handmade gift from my mother.

She made me a “candle of the month” package. She wrapped six candle boxes and labeled the month, and then added a poem for each one, too.

I already opened January (it’s the snowman candle on the candle warmer).

I hope you enjoyed waking up the house with me.

I hope you enjoyed all the random house conversations (and random house encouragement).

But most importantly?

Today?

I hope you enjoy creating your own sunshine. 🙂
