What If Spencer Pratt Loses L.A.’s Mayoral Race to Karen Bass?

The Fellas don’t just interview any political candidate.

The rising “Ruthless” podcast is selective in its guests, choosing people who matter to the conservative movement.

Like Spencer Pratt.

The reality show villain turned candidate is trying to unseat Mayor Karen Bass in the City of Angels. Bass has presided over L.A.’s malaise in more ways than one.

• Crime
• Homelessness
• The Palisades fire
• DEI run wild
• Fleeing film and TV productions

That’s just a partial list. She’s one of many California Democrats guilty of crushing the Golden State under their thumbs.

Enter Pratt, who brings energy, populist appeal and a killer backstory to the race. He, like many, lost his home in last year’s devastating fires. He watched as Bass and co. dodged blame for the destruction and held reconstruction back just like a certain comedy podcaster predicted.

Pratt figured she’d be booted out of office, or possibly arrested for her antics, like allegedly cooking the books on the fire’s recap report. Yet Bass endures, unscathed by the scandals and ready to fulfill another term.

That is, if L.A. council member Nithya Raman doesn’t defeat her from the Left. The far Left.

The city’s nonpartisan primary will be held on June 2. If one of the three wins 50 percent or more of the vote, they’ll be the next Mayor. If not, the November 3 general election will make the call.

The polling shows Bass with a major lead, though some surveys show a sizable “undecided” contingent.

The most recent public poll of the race showed Bass leading with 25 percent support, followed by Pratt at 11 percent. Progressive City Councilmember Nithya Raman polled at 9 percent. Activist Rae Huang and entrepreneur Adam Miller each received 3 percent. Forty percent of respondents said they were undecided.

Pratt may have the energy, the killer viral ads and common sense on his side, but blue cities in the modern era simply get more blue. Cobalt blue, to be exact.

Think Chicago and New York City as the most glaring examples. Both swapped out very liberal leaders (Lori Lightfoot, Bill de Blasio, respectively) for quasi-socialists (Brandon Johnson, Zohran Mamdani).

The only surprise with recent L.A. mayoral polling data? That Raman isn’t scoring higher.

Pratt’s campaign is still warming up. Those viral videos, which he told Team “Ruthless” cost him nothing, happened mere days ago. Former Vice President Kamala Harris just endorsed Bass.

The latter could have the opposite effect. Just ask Jasmine Crockett.

Pratt’s chances were never strong. He brings zero experience to the campaign, and the Democrats’ stranglehold on California politics remains strong. 

Still, a campaign where a reality show alum shocks the world is worthy of a Hollywood motion picture. We’ve seen it once already on a major scale, but the chances of a sequel are looking grim.
