Alyssa Farah Griffin had an awkward on-air slip during the May 26 live episode of The View, mistakenly referring to Donald Trump Jr.’s wedding as a “funeral.”

It happened when the View co-hosts were voicing their opinions on President Donald Trump skipping son Don Jr.’s May 23 wedding to socialite Bettina Anderson in the Bahamas and spending the day at the White House instead.

“If they had done the wedding at McDonald’s, maybe he would go,” co-host Joy Behar said during the episode.

Alyssa promptly responded, saying, “I oddly enough talked about this on CNN on Friday, and I said, ‘He should go.’”

Alyssa then said, “A parent should try to never miss their child’s funeral.”

Catching her mistake in literally no time, she immediately apologized, saying, “I’m sorry — oh, God — wedding. Honestly, I’m so tired, I have a 3-month-old. That was not meant.”

She quickly rearranged herself and her words and said, “A parent should never miss a wedding if they’re able to, and I actually don’t think people would have criticized if he did that. I think you’re much more likely to get criticism for skipping.”

A former Trump White House communications official, Alyssa welcomed her first child, Justin Patrick Jr., with her husband, Justin Griffin, in February.

When asked if he’d attend his son’s wedding, Donald told a reporter on May 21, “He’d like me to go… [But] this is not good timing for me. I have a thing called Iran and other things… If I do attend, I get killed. If I don’t attend, I get killed — by the fake news, of course.”

The next day, he announced his decision not to attend the ceremony.

He wrote on Truth Social, “While I very much wanted to be with my son, Don Jr., and the newest member of the Trump Family, his soon-to-be wife, Bettina, circumstances pertaining to Government, and my love for the United States of America, do not allow me to do so.”
