MTV’s The Challenge winner Tyler Duckworth dead at 44 after being ‘found unresponsive in his bathroom’ in North Dakota

The Challenge winner Tyler Duckworth has died at age 44.

The reality TV star was found dead inside his North Dakota home on Tuesday, August 11, just weeks after reuniting with fellow MTV stars at a fan event in Minneapolis.

According to People, a neighbor reported that water was leaking through the ceiling from his apartment, and the police responded to Duckworth’s residence around 11:45 a.m. on Tuesday.

However, it was too late, and authorities found Duckworth dead in his bathroom.

Grand Forks Police Department told People that the case remains under investigation. Officials said there were no signs of foul play or anything suggesting that the death was suspicious.

His cause of death has not been determined. An autopsy and toxicology testing are underway, with results expected to take approximately 10 to 12 weeks.

Duckworth’s time of death is yet to be determined as well, but according to the police, someone saw him a day before the body was found.

The Sun, which first reported the news, said officials classified the case as an unattended death because no one witnessed what happened.

An insider also claimed that Duckworth had recently had surgery, but the authorities have not linked the procedure to his death.

Duckworth’s mother, Joni, confirmed his death on Facebook on Thursday, August 13.

She wrote, “My son, Tyler, passed away earlier this week. Cause of death has yet to be determined. I will post on Facebook about services as soon as his dad and I figure it out.”

Duckworth’s death comes just 11 days after he appeared at a “Challenge Mania” event in Minneapolis on July 31.

The reality star reunited with fellow The Challenge veterans Rachel Robinson, Tina Barta, Mark Long and Brad Fiorenza during the event.

He shared photos from the reunion on Instagram, expressing his pride in representing his hometown and his gratitude to the show’s fans.

“The fans are what keep us coming out! Hearing your stories of courage, inspiration & joy that you’ve got being a fan of the franchise is humbling each and every time,” he wrote.

Scott Yager, co-host of the “Challenge Mania” podcast, told People that he coordinated Duckworth’s surprise appearance only days before the event.

“Like he did every day, he put a smile on everyone’s face and lit up the room with his infectious energy and incredible stories,” Yager said. “We loved him very much and he will be greatly missed.”
