Timely nuggets of information and ideas we want to share with you.

Softies high-tech sleepwear truly lives up to its name. Their Luxury Sleepwear has their trademark Wellness Fabric embedded in it and is designed to keep you cool and dry all night. They sell pajamas, nightgowns, sleepshirts, robes, loungewear, and ‘snuggly accessories’. They have products for children, women, and men. These products have been an Oprah’s Favorite for the past eight years. The Aria Slim Notch Collar Capri PJ set pictured above is $139.00.

Splitwise is an app for sharing expenses with other people.  Ginny used it on a trip with 14 people and it was a godsend.  A group is created, each member can add expenses individually, and the app does all the calculations and cost-splitting.  The only task left is to settle-up at the end. It is easy to use.  It even calculates in multiple currencies. The app is free for iPhone and Android.

If you’re like me, you buy buttermilk at the grocery store to use in a specific recipe.  You only use part of the bottle, and the unused portion slowly expires in the fridge.  I have discovered shelf-stable powdered buttermilk. It should be a pantry staple for everyone.  It is dehydrated buttermilk that can be reconstituted in water in a 4-to-1 ratio.  Having it in powdered form allows for many uses beyond just baking.  It can coat chicken pieces before baking or grilling, be the substitute for the cheese for a pasta sauce, added to mashed potatoes, the list is endless. It can be found in supermarkets, often in the aisle with dry milk powder, or it can be ordered from Amazon. $9.99 for a 16 oz. packet. Once it is opened it will last up to 6 months and should be kept in the refrigerator.
