The Quiet Unraveling of America’s Food Safety Net
Marcia Brown,  Ffood and Agriculture Reporter -  PoliticoStephan: The one thing that stands out most prominently for me about Trump and the MAGAt Party (formerly Republican) is that they don't give a damn about the wellbeing of the American people. What they call the "Big Beautiful Bill" actually is a bill to screw the American people except for the uber-rich. They are so basic in this contempt for social wellbeing that they don't even care if Americans are getting enough to eat. As this article describes, it is now up to the states to address things like food, childcare, heathcare, education. If you live in a state where voters are smart enough to vote Democrats into power, there may be some hope for you. If you live in a state where people driven by their hate, fear, racism, and ignorance vote Republicans into power, I just feel sorry for you.
