FRAUD ALERT – RESUME WRITER IMPERSONATION
Since early May 2026, an impersonator has been actively using a fake version of my identity, including my name, professional headshot, email signature, and headline branding from LinkedIn to solicit payment from executive-level job seekers for fabricated application services. This is part of a larger, carefully engineered fraud operation that uses multiple layers of sophistication to disarm professionals everywhere, especially executives. Various search firms, such as Korn Ferry, and the Wall Street Journal have reported on these elaborate job search scams that are rampant across the employment industry. There are important red flags to be aware of in the executive job search realm.
If anyone has contacted you claiming to be Wendi Weiner using the Gmail address “wendi.executiveresumewriter” please not that’s a fraudulent email address and I’m not operating it. My only legitimate email addresses are [email protected] and [email protected]. My only legitimate website is www.writingguru.net.
I’ve attached a photo of an example of the “fake” Wendi Weiner that is contacting job seekers.
The signature block is modeled after my LinkedIn profile content to make job seekers think it’s really me. I’ve since updated my LinkedIn profile banner and all social media banners.

My long-time business counsel, Darren Heitner, issued a cease and desist on May 8, 2026 to the fraudulent email address. I’ve filed formal complaints with the FBI, FTC, the Florida Attorney General’s office, and Nigeria’s Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC). This matter is being actively pursued.
