New York Knicks star OG Anunoby wins NBA championship in Skechers – a historic first
an hour ago 4
History was made at the Frost Bank Center — and Skechers was right there on the court for every step of it.
OG Anunoby has been crowned an NBA Champion, becoming the first player in history to win an NBA title wearing Skechers Basketball footwear. For a brand that launched its basketball division just three years ago, it marks a defining moment.
Fresh off his iconic game-winning tip-in in Game 4, OG delivered another standout performance in the title-clinching Game 5, finishing with 28 points, five rebounds and two blocks while providing the two-way impact that helped power the Knicks to the championship.
From timely three-pointers to key defensive stops, Anunoby was one of the NBA Finals’ most influential performers throughout the series — and he did it all in Skechers. In true OG fashion, he even rotated through three pairs of Skechers during Game 5 alone: opening the game in a black colourway SKX Nexus, transitioning into the SKX Nexus “NYC Blue” PE, and closing out the championship in a yellow colourway SKX Nexus — a fitting exclamation point on a historic night.

Throughout the playoffs and Finals, OG captivated fans not only with his performances, but also with the Skechers Player Exclusive styles he wore on court — several of which went viral:
SKX Nexus “Euro” PE
This style led to a now-legendary exchange and gifting moment with Knicks fan and Skechers ambassador Martha Stewart.
SKX Reign “Foreman” PE
Debuted during warmups ahead of Game 3 of the Finals as a nod to his repeated Defensive Player of the Game honours.
SKX Nexus “NYC Blue” PE
This bold blue-and-orange colourway, worn during his iconic Game 4 performance, paid tribute to the Knicks’ remarkable playoff run and the fans who made it possible.

On court, OG rotated between two high-performance Skechers Basketball models that reflect his dynamic and versatile game:
• The SKX Nexus™ – a low-top performance shoe built for speed, stability and responsive comfort.
• The SKX Reign™ – designed for elevation and elite traction to keep OG locked in at both ends of the floor.
The milestone extends beyond basketball. OG is now a two-time NBA Champion, having first won a title with the Toronto Raptors in 2019, when he became the first British-born player to win an NBA championship.
Skechers is the world’s third-largest footwear brand and has rapidly assembled one of basketball’s most exciting athlete rosters, including Joel Embiid, Julius Randle, Isaiah Hartenstein, Norman Powell and WNBA stars Jackie Young, Rickea Jackson and Kiki Iriafen, alongside elite athletes across running, golf, football, pickleball and cricket.
