The second ODI match of the South Africa tour of India 2025 is all set to be held tomorrow, December 3, at 1:30 PM, at the Shaheed Veer Narayan Singh International Stadium in Raipur.

India enter the second ODI in Raipur with a 1-0 series lead, hoping to build on the momentum from their valiant victory in Ranchi. The batting unit seems in excellent rhythm, with Virat Kohli getting back to century-scoring form and Rohit Sharma leading from the front. KL Rahul’s finishing touch, playing at no. 7, provides depth, while the bowlers, particularly Arshdeep Singh, Harshit Rana, and Kuldeep Yadav, showed their ability to strike at vital times. As the Men in Blue would want to clinch the series, the unit will try for better fielding and a more disciplined middle-overs phase with the ball. The only other selection issue pertains to the prospective Gaikwad-Pant switch; however, India are likely to maintain the same XI.

Despite having a challenging start, South Africa will gain confidence from their aggressive attempt to achieve 332 runs. Long until the last over, their bottom order, Marco Jansen and Corbin Bosch in particular, showed courage and tenacity. The Proteas will require more discipline with the ball, particularly in the powerplay and death overs, as well as a bigger contribution from the top order to even the series. With bright performances developing and circumstances in Raipur set to favour big scores, South Africa will be eager to rebound back and push the series into a finale.

Head-to-Head:

India and South Africa have encountered each other 95 times in ODIs, with South Africa dominating the head-to-head with 51 wins. India achieved 41 victories, while three matches concluded with no result.
