This cheesy vegan Garlic Scape Pizza is every garlic lover’s dream come true. A crispy crust is topped with creamy and extra cheesy garlicky white sauce, some fresh garlic scapes, and then even more cheese. It’s all super flavorful, but still quick and easy to make. It makes a great weeknight dinner or party food.

If you ever get your hands on garlic scapes, you want to try this recipe, trust me! It’s so simple, yet it still tastes special.

Garlic Scape Pizza is…

  • vegan and fully plant-based
  • optionally gluten-free
  • quick and easy to make
  • budget-friendly
  • cheesy
  • full of garlic flavors
  • lovely for weeknights
  • also great as a party food

How to make Garlic Scape Pizza

I like to use my simple pizza dough recipe here, it comes together so quickly. It’s just flour, instant yeast, olive oil and warm water, plus whatever spices you like to add. You only need to knead it for a couple of minutes, then let rise for about 20 minutes, and it’s ready to use.

But of course you can also use store-bought pizza dough. Either way, simply roll out the dough into a large and thin circle. Or go with tortilla or pita for an extra speedy version.

For the creamy sauce mix together vegan cream cheese and sour cream. I like to add some crushed garlic to it as well, and then season with salt and pepper. Spread this mixture all over your pizza dough (or pita or tortilla).

Then scatter some shredded vegan cheese and garlic scapes over the pizza, and bake for 10-15 minutes, until pizza is crispy and just golden on the edges. You want to bake them in a preheated oven over high heat for best result.

That’s it. Enjoy the pizza immediately with chili flakes and vegan parmesan on top. Or eat it cold the next day, it’s gonna be still so good (yes, even without reheating!).

Customize it the way you like it!

This recipe is pretty simple and using only a couple of ingredients, but you can still play around with it.

You can use whatever flour you like here. Choose gluten-free, if needed, or a mix of whole wheat, white or even rye flour. You can also season the dough with garlic, fresh or dried herbs, or some chili.

For the sauce you can use store-bought or homemade cheeses. Try a soy-based, a cashew-based or even a tofu based cheese. And add extras like nutritional yeast, miso, fresh herbs, or fermented tofu for extra flavor.

You can also add extra toppings next to garlic scapes. Olives, asparagus, cherry tomatoes, vegan chicken and smoked tofu are especially good here.
