International Marketing Research Colloquium

The event will feature current and former editors and associate editors of international marketing journals who will collectively share decades of experience in international marketing scholarship, publication strategies, and challenges of publishing in the leading journals.

Specifically, the goal of this Colloquium is to provide insights regarding the selection of timely, interesting, and relevant international marketing topics for research, manuscript positioning, theory and methodology considerations, manuscript preparation and submission, and nuances of addressing reviewer concerns, among other topics.

Digitalization SIG Paper Development Workshop

This workshop aims to explore and nurture early-stage research ideas on digital globalization. It is designed to help developing projects receive thoughtful and constructive feedback on theoretical framing, methodological design, and practical challenges, including collaboration opportunities and publication strategies.

The session will bring together a team of leading International Business scholars representing AIB’s newly established Shared Interest Group (SIG) on Digitalization, who will serve as mentors. They will first provide an overview of emerging research on digital globalization, particularly in light of recent geopolitical turbulence, and will then offer tailored, in-depth feedback on individual research proposals.

Research Methods SIG Workshops & Masterclasses

Grow your research skill set with detailed instructional sessions on the latest methods in IB. Topics covered in our 2026 Masterclasses include “Ethnography in International Business”, led by Mary Yoko Brannen (San José State University & Copenhagen Business School) and Fiona Moore (Royal Holloway, University of London) as well as “Evaluating Latent Variable Path Models”, administrated by Larry Williams (Texas Tech University). The workshops offered at AIB 2026 Manchester address the themes “Large Language Models (LLMs) for International Business Research”, which will be led by Deepak Nayak (The Ohio State University) and Pankaj Kumar (Virginia Tech), as well as “Advanced Qualitative Techniques for Theorizing”, featuring instruction from Deepak Nayak (The Ohio State University) and Pankaj Kumar (Virginia Tech).

Teaching and Education SIG Professional Development Workshop

In an era defined by fast‑moving geopolitical, technological, and economic shifts, international business educators face increasing pressure to provide students with credible, timely, data‑driven insights about global activity. This workshop, led by Steve Altman, Senior Research Scholar and Director of the DHL Initiative on Globalization at NYU Stern, equips faculty with practical tools and techniques to strengthen students’ data literacy, analytical reasoning, and global awareness using two free resources: the DHL Global Connectedness Tracker and the NYU Stern Globalization Explorer.

Company Tour: Novanta Photonics

This corporate visit offers AIB delegates an on-site introduction to Novanta Photonics’s Stockport facility, followed by an interactive discussion with a senior Novanta manager. The session will focus on two closely related themes. First, it will examine the strategic role of the Stockport site within Novanta’s global footprint, including its position as one of the company’s “lighthouse” locations and its contribution to an “in-region, for-region” operating model. Second, it will explore how innovation networks and knowledge flows are managed within a multinational technology firm operating across multiple sites, business units, and acquired entities. Time will be reserved for a moderated Q&A.

Research and Policy: A Day of Cross-Cutting Dialogue

To help our event coordinators allocate sufficient space, resources, and refreshments we are asking all AIB 2026 registrants to RSVP by 28 May 2026, specifying which portions of this programming they plan to attend.
