The Scale of Life is a website that visualizes worldwide statistics in real time – minutes and seconds- displaying a live count of everyday events, things made, and natural phenomena the moment you open the page. It’s fascinating to watch all the activity—from packages delivered, number of skin cells shed by your body, Uber trips, lightning strikes, new trees sprouting and much more. It’s not 100% accurate, but if you are curious, you can click on the counters for sources and hand-picked articles and videos on the topic and explore deeper (see image below on vehicles manufactured). It’s amazing.
How to remove red wine stains
Immediately after wine is spilled, dab the stain with cold water to dilute it. Then blot the stain by pressing down firmly so wine is absorbed into a paper towel or dishcloth instead of wiping from side to side; otherwise, you risk spreading the stain. Next, mix two parts liquid dish soap with one part 3% hydrogen peroxide and spread the mixture on top of the stain. Let mixture sit for roughly half an hour before either wiping it away with cold water or running it under a cold faucet. The stain should have largely, if not entirely, disappeared. If a faint outline remains, repeat the process.
Note: Hydrogen peroxide can discolor fabrics so test the solution on an inconspicuous and small area of the rug or fabric first.
K-Pop Demon Hunters is not for kids only.
I have been peripherally interested in the popularity of K-Pop over the years. I took note of the popularity, among both kids and adults, of the latest movie, K-Pop Demon Hunters, produced by Sony Pictures Animation. Since it was released last August, it has been watched over 291 million times. The movie has become the most watched Netflix film of all time with its audience loving the vibrant animation, addictive music, compelling story, and the quality production. What seems to be resonating with adults are the themes of shame, identity, self-worth, hiding vulnerabilities from the world, and coming to terms with imperfections. Co-director Maggie Kang created the film as an homage to her Korean heritage by incorporating Korean shamanism, traditional mythology, art, and folklore. I kept hearing how good it was from adult friends of mine and, having now seen it, I agree. It’s not going to change your life but if you have time to spare on a lazy Sunday afternoon, watch and enjoy it on Netflix.
