The Accessory That Suggests Curiosity, Intellect, and Old-World Charm.

An attractive magnifying glass adds a little’ je ne sais quoi’ to a room.  It is an accent piece with a blend of form and function.  It adds sophistication to a stack of books, or a desktop or anything in a library.  It symbolizes attention to detail.  It is very ‘old world’ while serving as a magnifier when needed. Older one-of-a-kinds can be found in antique and vintage stores. Newer ones are often part of current inventory for a wide variety of ‘home goods’ stores as well as Etsy.  They seem to bridge the gap between decoration and usefulness.  They carry a sense of purpose while suggesting curiosity and intellect. I have a very pretty magnifying glass someone gave me, and I thought at the time that it was an unusual yet thoughtful present.  I can’t tell you how often I grab it to look at something closely, and I love the way it looks next to books on a coffee table.

This is a Gecko magnifying glass with 24k gold plating.  It has a 7x magnification and measures 7” long.  $165.00.

This magnifier has a twist-and-loop resin handle crafted to look like mahogany.  I love the design. It is 5” W x 1” H x 13” L.  $80.00.

I thought a modern magnifier should be included for those with contemporary decor.  This is a Nikon Loupe S1 4D Magnifier in Blue. It also comes in red, and in three strengths 4D, 8D, and 10D.  Very functional and cool looking. $128.48.

A brass 24k gold-plated enamel coral magnifying glass.  The brass accents the textured finish.  It has 7x magnification. $165.00.

This feather handheld magnifying glass has an antiqued pewter handle in the shape of a bird’s feather. It measures 8.35” x 3.5”.  $34.00

This is made of brass with a bronze finish in wide, modern stripes.  It is 14.5” H x 6” W x 1.25 D”.  $107.00.

I love the whimsy in this magnifying glass.  The gold-plated brass crocodile is 7.5” long, and the glass is smooth-edged $195.00.

This is a magnifying glass made from solid brass with an antique feel.  It has a bone handle and is very lightweight.  10” long with a 4” diameter glass.  It has a 10X magnification.  $18.95.

This is a vintage, pre-owned, magnifying glass with a wood handle from Ebay.  The ‘Buy It Now’ cost is $26.68.

This has nautical twisted rope wound around the handle, creating a natural texture.  The glass has a 5” diameter and the total length is 11”. $85.00.
