WASHINGTON – In response to congressional Republicans passing Trump’s bill that will slash health care for at least 17 million people to pay for billionaire tax cuts, MoveOn Political Action spokesperson Britt Jacovich released the following statement:
“Blame Donald Trump and congressional Republicans when over 17 million people lose their health care while the rich get even richer. Blame Donald Trump and congressional Republicans when rural hospitals close due to the largest Medicaid cuts in history. Blame Donald Trump and congressional Republicans when struggling families lose SNAP and food assistance to pay for billionaire tax cuts. MoveOn will make sure every voter knows Trump and congressional Republicans betrayed them and their families to benefit billionaires.”
MoveOn members have been raising their voices to protest Republicans willing to sell out working families to benefit billionaire tax cuts, including:
- Commissioning a slate of digital ads and billboards targeting Speaker Mike Johnson and vulnerable House Republicans;
- Tens of thousands of members have organized or attended protests to protect our services;
- Sent over 30,000 letters to their members of Congress and made over 40,000 calls to oppose the funding cuts;
- More than 140,000 have signed a petition to protect federal aid.
