The Argentina Football Association (AFA) has announced a new partnership with U.S.-based prediction market platform Kalshi, which has joined the reigning world champions as an official sponsor for the FIFA World Cup 2026.

The agreement aligns one of football’s most commercially powerful national teams with a rapidly growing player in the prediction markets space, as Argentina defends the FIFA World Cup title it secured in Qatar in 2022.

Under the partnership, Kalshi will gain access to a range of commercial and marketing rights, including the use of AFA intellectual property and branding across promotional campaigns. The collaboration will feature co-branded activations, digital content initiatives and fan engagement campaigns throughout the tournament, which will be hosted across the United States, Canada and Mexico.

The deal is also supported by Genius Sports, AFA’s official data and streaming partner. As part of the arrangement, Genius Sports will provide Kalshi with access to official sports data to support the creation and settlement of sports-related prediction market contracts. The use of official data is expected to strengthen transparency, accuracy and user confidence across Kalshi’s platform during the tournament.

The partnership marks another significant commercial agreement for AFA as it continues to expand its global sponsorship portfolio and strengthen its presence in key international markets, particularly North America, ahead of the 2026 World Cup.

Commenting on the partnership, Adam Barrick, Head of Sports Partnerships, Kalshi, said, “Argentina is the standard of excellence in world football. That’s exactly who Kalshi belongs alongside. We’re building the future of how people engage with live events, and partnering with the reigning champions of the beautiful game is the clearest signal we can send about where we’re headed.”

Leandro Petersen, Chief Commercial & Marketing Officer, Asociación del Fútbol Argentino (AFA), added, “Kalshi is a leader in its category, and their decision to partner with AFA is a testament to the global strength our brand has built since 2017. Each new alliance of this calibre reinforces that the path we charted for AFA’s international expansion is the right one, and that the world’s leading organisations want to be part of it.”

For Kalshi, the partnership provides a high-profile platform to reach football fans during the sport’s biggest event, while reinforcing its ambitions to establish prediction markets as a mainstream form of fan engagement. More broadly, the agreement underscores the growing convergence of sports properties, official data providers and emerging interactive engagement platforms as rights holders seek new ways to connect with global audiences and unlock additional commercial value.
