Digitalization SIG Workshop
Application Deadline: 25 March 2025
Workshop Chair: Fernanda Cahen
Event Overview: This workshop sets out to explore early-stage research of global digitalization issues and its implications for IB studies. This session will bring together a team of IB researchers representing the AIB’s new Shared Interest Group (SIG) on Digitalization. The workshop seeks to help early-stage projects gain insightful feedback and enhance research skills around aspects of theoretical development, methods, and other practical challenges, such as collaborative projects in global digitalization issues.
How to Apply: To participate in this workshop, please submit a one-page CV and a one-page research proposal (approximately 500 words) by 25 March 2025. Selected participants will be notified by 1 April 2025. If your project is accepted, you must prepare one slide for a three-minute presentation of your idea on the day of the workshop.
This workshop is limited to 20 participants. All accepted applicants must confirm their participation with the workshop chair, have a valid AIB membership, and be registered for the AIB 2025 Conference. Failure to meet these conditions will result in your spot being offered to another workshop applicant.
AIB Insights Paper Development Workshop

Event Overview: Are you doing research that can be communicated effectively in a short (approximately 2500 words) article that is interesting, topical, current, and thought-provoking? Would such an article address theoretical, empirical, practical, or pedagogical issues of value to the broad community of IB scholars, practitioners, policy makers, and educators – with an emphasis on applied insights? If your response to both of these questions is “Yes”, then this event is for you, because AIB Insights provides an outlet for precisely such work!
How to Apply: To participate in the AIB Insights PDW, we invite scholars to upload a short (maximum of 1000 words) manuscript that presents an idea for a potential AIB Insights submission, through the AIB Insights Paper Development Workshop Submission System.
Authors of accepted idea papers will have the opportunity to receive detailed comments on the manuscript from members of our editorial team (editors and/or members of the editorial review board) during the PDW.
The deadline for submissions is 31 March 2025, in the submitting author’s time zone. Please consult the AIB Insights For Authors page when preparing the submission.
AIB/Sheth Foundation International Marketing Research Colloquium

Event Overview: The event will feature current and former editors and associate editors of international marketing journals who will collectively share decades of experience in international marketing scholarship, publication strategies, and challenges of publishing in the leading journals. Specifically, the goal of this Colloquium is to provide insights regarding the selection of timely, interesting, and relevant international marketing topics for research, manuscript positioning, theory and methodology considerations, manuscript preparation and submission, and nuances of addressing reviewer concerns, among other topics. We invite all researchers with an interest in international marketing to register for free and attend the Colloquium by submitting a manuscript for roundtable discussion and feedback by our international marketing editors. All scholars from Ph.D. students to senior faculty are welcome to attend and get feedback on their work.
How to Apply: All AIB/Sheth Foundation International Marketing Research Colloquium attendees are required to submit papers, whether complete, nearing completion, or work-in-progress. (For works-in-progress, please submit a 5-page (max) summary, inclusive of key references, tables, and figures.) These may include manuscripts that you have submitted or plan to submit to this year’s AIB Conference or other international marketing conferences.

Emerging Markets SIG Workshop

Event Overview: Every year, the AIB main conference attracts a large number of submissions on the theme of emerging markets. The number of submissions on this theme surpasses those on other themes. However, many of these authors face various challenges, from getting their papers accepted to obtaining funding for attending the AIB conference. On a broader level, numerous researchers focusing on emerging markets have expressed frustration with challenges ranging from collecting data to accessing funding to developing theories on emerging markets. This workshop aims to support AIB members working on emerging markets-related topics by discussing and finding solutions to the challenges mentioned earlier. Additionally, it aims to provide feedback on participants’ work related to emerging markets.
How to Apply: To be considered for this PDW, we invite authors to submit an extended abstract (maximum of five pages; 12-point font, 1.5 spacing) using our Online Submission Form.
The extended abstract submission deadline is 15 April 2025 in the author’s time zone (or until places are filled). Due to space constraints, we can only invite one participant per paper to the workshop.

Teaching and Education SIG Professional Development Workshop

Event Overview: This workshop is designed for educators seeking to integrate the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) into the International Business (IB) curriculum. Participants from diverse discipline backgrounds and experience levels, including professors, instructors, lecturers, administrators, research and teaching assistants, and doctoral candidates, are welcome. Support materials and resources will be provided during the session and shared digitally afterward. Participants will receive a certificate of completion.
In this high-impact workshop, participants will do the following: Gain a comprehensive understanding of the UN SDGs and their relevance to IB education. Engage in hands-on activities, such as developing lesson plans and course activities, including scenario-driven problem-solving exercises and methods to measure business impact on the UN SDGs. Share ideas with AIB professors worldwide on integrating UN SDG topics into the IB curriculum.
